Can anyone reccomend a good monster torque servo for s trx4 that's waterproof? I've been anticipating it, but my crappy traxxas servo went out after its 3rd use lol.

I just buy whatever I want and pack it full of dielectric grease and then coat the outside with plastidip. Havent ever completely submerged one, but been through plenty of water with no real issues.

This is what I run in my Wraith (wired straight to 2s battery):

Have this one in my X-Maxx crawler (yes its actually a crawler now - Tekin RX8 and 18V Dewalt brushed motor)

I've always loved my hitec servos but had two quit on me in the last two weeks. Both new. Bought on Amazon though so i may have a battle in front of me. I have been impressed with how quiet the reefs servos are while the savox are too loud. I may grab an ecopower at work to throw in the spare part box for when this reefs gives up on me

Holmes Hobbies are supposed to be good. Bluebird brand has good reviews. There are a few others out there.

I ran a waterproof high voltage/high torque ebay servo after mine died in my TRX4. it lasted a few outings.. and was super strong and quiet.. but eventually started acting up. spent like 80 bucks on it. I just replaced it with a Savox 1270 titanium HV servo. pushes out 487oz/in. picked it up for 84 bucks. its loud.. but holy hell is it fast and strong!

    nice TRX4.

got ya. That Reefs should hold up tho. Couple other guys I go out with run Reefs.. no issue with them. just $$$

Buddy and I actually swapped TRX4's for the day.. and although his Reefs servo was definitely strong.. and gave me no issues.. when we swapped back, I found I liked my Savox better. just seemed to be smoother and faster.. just as strong.. but definitely louder than the Reefs. pros and cons.

changed some things around on the TRX4.. and now have a bangin stereo. lol works and fits perfectly.. nice little bit of weight too. The battery being moved to the front is a game changer for sure.. highly recommend it for TRX4 owners. The new Savox 1270 is a beast.. its self clearance'ing the horn.. pretty happy with this current configuration.. will hold me over until I get some brass and other stuff.

20180309_174856.jpg Had my UDR signed by Justin this year at the Mint 400. Was pretty cool to have the UDR parked on top of the real deal. Even Traxxas had a Booth there. Here are a few pics from the event.

Spend the extra cash and get the X Maxx you'll be much happier with it.

I thought about it hard and decided not to get it. Spare parts would be non existent in a year or so.

If money is a concern, The Arrma Talion or Kraton are better values than X-Maxx.
