Anyone into R/C?

Ha, I built one of these a while back. I took the case off the combo unit, shrink wrapped it, and stuck it to the cage inside the roof.

 

Got a ecx barrage today. Went in to get my son a new charger, left with this little thing.

Here it stands next to its much faster brother, my losi micro sct





I just need to find a 3rd gen tacoma body for it

If you can find a 1/20 static model it should be very close to fitting right.

 

So question for those with the ecx barrage 24th scale.

I have a few lipo batteries from my micro sct, they are 7.4v, will I damage anything in my barrage by running those? I am mainly looking for longer run times and more torque. My son is running circles around me in the grass with his rage 4wd car.

I did rc cars from 1992-1999, so we pretty much only had nicad batteries, brushed motors and 1/10 scale was the standard.
All these new batteries are killing me.

 

I’m not 10% the stock ESC can handle the lipo. I immediately swapped the electronics out for more conventional. Small 10a ESC and then removed the housing from a reciever I had.

 

Everything except the water cooling lines are done. Not sure if I trust the hatch seal but it should handle a flip or two

 

Nice! I picked up the blue Barrage a few months ago. I've had it out a few times, but the torque and throttle input leaves a lot to be desired. I have been researching upgrades for these little bastards. We already reversed the motor.. so the throttle control is a little smoother, not as jerky with dead spots.. but now it definitely needs a better motor or just a new gear set.. and some other little things.

I believe it will handle the small 2s lipos. I've been wanting pick one up myself for it.

Need to do some mods to make it work, but its documented on youtube.

It does make the truck slower, but gives better torque.

 

I was gonna suggest that v2 tranny or even one like the Sumo had with a geared motor then the tranny.

 

Is anyone in the market for a UDR?

Got the itch for an xmaxx. Haha. It's either sell this or trade my camera equipment for one.

 

My new RC8T3.1e that I just finished, next to my ET410. I will be running these outdoors this summer and maybe indoors a bit too.

 

Save a little longer. Xmaxx is fun but just isn’t the same as UDR.

 

It's cheap enough to grab one. Small enough it shouldn't break the way I drive them.

 

Dude from TLR stopped by the shop today. Turns out he owns a hobby store in NY. Hooked it up for one of the sales guys and showed us the Losi’s He races.

 

I can't decide, I just picked up a revo and I havent used the udr since. Lol

 

I have mixed feelings about those axles and the servo location.
