Nice. 4.0s are sweet. I just recently sold my 3.0 TLR truggy to a friend from the track. He just build up a new TLR 8ight X-e. Looks pretty sick. Some pretty big changes from the 4.0, it seems.

Seems like most people are into cars/trucks here. Anyone into airplanes?

I have been flying for 22 years; you don't have to join a club. I just recommend it, as it gives you a large knowledge base and help in learning to fly and hopefully minimal crashing. And i believe the insurance covers you if you fly at approved fields.

The parks here are off limits. Supposedly school fields are public domain but I'm not sure. They just restricted drones even more I believe. Flight is not friendly to an amateur if you don't join a club and to fly at an air space you can't just pay a few bucks a day. No RC at all except in a parking areas in state and national parks. Even county open spaces have rules against rc. I wish there was a group I knew that was helping to limit such restrictions. RC in general isn't very friendly to New comers.....

I haven’t raced in years. Got all my stuff in totes. Duffel bag full of tires. Local hobby shop takes in like a pawn shop. Thinking on unloading seeing I won’t be doing it anymore in next 10years

That's frustrating, I know the feeling of resistance from governing bodies. One of the clubs I belong to is currently loosing their field because the DEEP doesn't want to resign the lease; even though the club has operated out of that location since the late '60s.

There are a few large churches with rather large fields linked to their parking lots that let people fly. I don’t know if they’re members of the church or if it’s a club.

My old hometown had a club that would fly at a field in the industrial strip just out of town, but just on the weekends.

Most schools around me allow electric Only. For nitro we used to fly off an old country road out over a cow pasture. Was great when everything was good, Sucked when things go bad and there was a bull in the field. Lol

Been flying planes for about 20 years. Any more I have a few smaller park type planes and a few wings. When I do get time to fly I would rather go fly instead of packing everything up to go fly.

Woot!!! Boss found out I got into RC and his son is “selling” me these trucks for the low price of FREE. All older models but it’s going to be fun tinkering on them with the kids. Comes with more batteries, chargers and a box full of parts.

Nice. Mini Erevo is fun. I still have 1 (that I have way too much $ into). Can't tell if that is the Brushless or not. The Summit is a nice truck. That is the gem of that lot, looks like. Very good.

Some of those little Slash trucks run a 550 sized motor. Some a 380 brushless. I think those with the 550 are a hoot in places like skateparks and the like with the instant torque. I’d put the effort in to swap over to lipo vs those NiMh batteries, too. Especially since it’s lagniappe.

Tore this thing completely down and installed sealed bearings throughout since everything was a brass/bronze bushing. Nothing a quick google, fleaBay China buy, and 5 week wait couldn’t fix. LOL. While I was rummaging through my parts bins I found a 3660 brushless motor in the 2300kV flavor. It has a 5mm shaft and I had only one 5mm in 48dp and it’s a 19 tooth. Stuck it in and used a cheap 60a ESC and it’s off to the wheelie races. 2s pulls some good ones and 3s does backflips. Too much grip with those meaty tires but it’ll be fun in some soft dirt.
