And I borrowed my neighbors charger to charge the battery in 50 minutes, not 8 hours.

Dropped a 3S liPo in the truck today after work, holy sheep it made the truck fast compared to the 7 cell NIMH, I could burn the tires down to nothing if I wanted too.

You need to trickle charger them I'd bet but may be easier to just get a new one

So I picked up an xmaxx 8 days ago from my LHS. I ran it for about 30 seconds and decided to swap the high speed gear in it. I go to try it out the next day. I flip it over and think, screw it, let's just see how well this self righting works (Knowing damn well it's bad for the drivetrain).

Long story short, the pinion, spur, and both ring and pinion are garbage now. To make it better, the gears are on backorder. Haha.

On a positive note, the revo is running well now with the max8 and got some goodies today!

On another side note - I'm selling my UDR! Asking $650 shipped with a ton of upgrades. If interested, shoot me a message, I'll send you the part list.

I feel like self righting is a gimmick that eats battery power :) I just run my fat ass over the flip it over.

I can't believe the self righting ruins the drivetrain. That sucks. I don't have Traxxas trucks but I've been close. There's an 8s completer at my local hobby shop that has me tempted to find a cheap 6s xmaxx

does my stock charger have this feature? Otherwise, what do i need? since i have 4 batteries all in the same condition i'd rather bring them back to life vs buying 4?

If they’re the NiCad or NiMh you can cycle the charge and discharge 3-4 times and it may bring them back. If your charger is capable of doing that. If they’re lipo do the same but lipo may not come back.

I don’t think it ruins the drive train per se. it does run the wheels at full speed with sudden changes in direction (braked usually). It’s a pretty cool feature when the truck is not turned turtle or otherwise in a position that’s difficult to recover from.

I just feel like it’s a waste of battery. I will say if you’re hard on the truck, there are parts of the drivetrain that are weaker than they should be especially with bigger batteries or gear changes for speed.

I know you don't want to hear it but I bet you'd be happier buying new ones. Check and see if any lhs has an older trickle charger. If it were lipo you can bump them ifthey aren't puffed. If it was nimh the trickle usually works,n is hard to recover though. Take the truck with you. Lipo would be an amazing upgrade for you I'd bet

I’ve been into a little different type of RC. Sooo much harder than just 2 channel throttle and steering but so much fun

Thank you! is it as simple as just a Lipo battery purchase, or is there more i would need to convert? since my charger does both, and if i have to buy new batteries anyway then i may just go that route.

    Nice!

Haven't seen too many planes in here. I started with cars too but transitioned mostly to flying. Currently putting together an Extreme Flight 52" Slick I'm pretty excited about.
