Yes! Been doing rc's forever as well. First real crawler was a pti Goliath (came out about the same time as the the tlt). It ended up with an rc-10 b4 transmission and lathe motor, with a full metal hand made avalanche engineering sniper chassis.

next was an xtm xfactor powered by a 4stroke .40 O.S. nitro motor. It would toast a clutch on command.
Next was a completely original bruiser. In perfect shape, and my dumb ass sold it for $1200. Should haven't done that.

No, it's a 12v 2000rpm, trans, combines with I think it was a 300rpm orlandoo motor. I have slowly added a collection of the little motor/gear box combos and can't remember exactly which one it was. The n20 motor/gearboxes are cheap on eBay.

Ok, judging by these cool RC's this question may be too elementary. I'll ask anyway.

I want to get my kid a halfway decent, under $100 rc truck. Speed is not important, he's 5 and slower will make it easier to control. Will be used in our large desert yard, looks like a dirt/gravel parking lot. Also would like rechargeable.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

This body was on my TF2, now its on my SCXii. I should have fit the sliders before beating on it, it didn't take long to destroy the paint . I'll probably repaint it with a bobbed bed when I add the sliders and rear bumper.

Started the TRX-4. Going mostly ok, with the exception of the struggle to get all the needed parts delivered at roughly the same time.
