I think the key is getting a smart balance charger. One that has multiple functions like lipo charge lipo balance and lipo discharge preferrably

The smart charger is better. I feel like i get more run out of a battery charged with my smart one vs the super cheap one. I use this guy Tenergy TB6-B Balance Charger Discharger 1S-6S Digital Battery Pack Charger for NiMH/NiCD/Li-PO/Li-Fe Packs w/ LCD Display Hobby Battery Charger w/ Tamiya/JST/EC3/HiTec/Deans Connectors + Power Supply https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00466PKE0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_35oKEbJS7HJQY

You’ll want to up your charger game. You can get a nice charger for relatively cheap. The advantage will be charging more batteries at once and being able to balance charge. That’s really the only way you should charge your LiPos.

I use a venom pro duo.

And another note, you may already know. DO NOT COMPLETELY DISCHARGE LIPOS.

And if you must leave them for a while, discharge them to the storage levels. A good charger will help in this regard.

Don’t cheap out on a charger if you are using LiPos. Managing them is important as they can be dangerous if not charged/discharged/stored correctly. Having a dual charger is more of a convenience if using for crawlers, but nice if you do any racing or bashing where batteries drain quickly. I am very happy with the one I have. Not cheap, but not the nicest/most expensive out there either.

    Thanks for the input everyone.

Nice! Good place to start. You’ll want the brushless upgrade sooner or later though ;)

I ended up with a xl5 rustler that I've been messing with. The Traxxas 12t isn't bad for a stock motor. I'm going to burn it up tomorrow I hope on 2s and bad gearing:101010: but a brushless system is always nice

It had a bad esc that wouldn't let it run outside training mode. I had a sw3 I stumbled across to replace it but I need a 4600kv motor and I don't want to spend 90 bucks on it
