Wow - awesome last few pages. Lots of good stuff.

    Few updates for me...

My parents finally shipped me my RC10T3 that I got when I was 12. Went to the LHS, grabbed a $20 NiMH battery, charged it with my 7 year old IntelliPeak charger, and the damn thing ran like it was the first day. Unbelievable! Old Novak Reactor ESC, and an even older motor. Much faster than I remember so I can't wait until I really invest some money into it.

Blitz will be here tomorrow - then it's off to the LHS to get the Deans plugs put on so I can actually fire it up.

Ordered about $110 worth of parts from Tower Hobbies last night for the T3 - lots of rusted screws (picked up the RCScrewZ set for it), a broken top plate, rusted turnbuckles, dogbones, etc...

Now I need to pick up a decent tool set to work on these things with - my allen wrench set makes my hands go raw after an hour or so.

Anybody have any preference on what Deans plugs you use? Just any ole' brand?

    Fink

Well the master plan is to get one for myself when I can, I was hoping for a Wraith. Anyways wanted to get another one so when we go camping we can take them along to play with to kill some time.

When I told my son we could do some "custom" paint jobs on them he was totally pumped about that. lol

A good set of hex drivers is priceless. Deans is a brand, not a style. The real Deans are the best, there are some cheap copies, they work fine, but the plastic will melt when making them up if your not careful with the iron.

Those 4 poles are sick! How much is it for just the motor?
Sensorless setups have come a long way since then. I can gaurantee you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between my VXL and a sensored setup. My VXL can also run a sensored motor, btw.
That's the thing, I only bash. I thought the ESE used the same plastic as the RTR Blitz.

I'm not really into crawlers, but that thing is badass!

Thanks, That's not bad at all. I've been looking at the CC SCT 4 poles, but they're going for $70 - $90 on eBay. Toro looks like a nice alternative. Hmm...

Yeah, I knew some ESCs could run both. I know the first couple of sensor less systems had "steps" or notchy throttle response, these of course were adapted from airplane stuff, and that would not be a big deal. I'm sure they way better nowadays. I've always ran Novak stuff, and have had great luck/success with them, so I never tried any other maker.

The build quality is awesome imo. The torque is crazy and you'll just have fun with it. it also has the 3.5mm bullet connectors so it will swap right into your slash with no mods at all.

Theres also a 120 day warranty for the motor AND you get the backing of a great distributor thats in the US and not in china.

I wouldnt hesitate to buy more products from ck hobby. They will back you on any purchase.

tell em mjbtaco referred you if you go to him! haha

For racing I assume? So, are the parts also easier to break, being stiffer and less forgiving? I know the carbon a-arms for my T4s are crap, almost brittle, the plastic/composite ones are better, cause they have a tad of give to them. RPM finally made some, and I've not broke one in years now.

yes the plastics in the ESE are intended for racing

the main thing that breaks in the ESE is the chassis, but apparently that was fixed

Carbon composite plastics are intended for racing applications, as they are alot stiffer which allows the steering and suspension be more responsive

but a 4 pole is honestly overkill for a 2wd truck

the 4 pole 1/10 motors were intended for 4wd SC because of the weight
