wltoys 144001 showed up today... gonna break it down a little, get some grease in the diffs, cut the body to accommodate a motor heatsink and fan. Looks decent for $90 with a lipo.

I finished up the workbenches for the garage tonight. I’ll be starting my first hardbody build on a trail finder 2 chassis this weekend. Naturally I’ll be building a Mojave (An 83 style Toyota pickup from what I can pickup). So that’s pretty exciting!

I can't wait for my ARRMA 3s to get here. Launch day still feels so far away.

I started a hardbody yesterday. It’s my first one. With my history of painting Lexan, I’m pretty surprised how well I’m actually doing. Haha. What did you gents work on this weekend?

Looks great to me. Not a thing. I work weekends. Waiting for parts to start my 2nd build. Wide body 3rd gen. Gives me something to do during the cold winters.

Very cool! One day I’ll pick up one of those Mfabs, but they look a huge amount of work. Props to you for having the patience. Ha

Anyone else having issues with backorders over the last year? I'm really having to tag all bases to buy replacement parts and upgrades. It doesn't seem to be a brand problem. I had to buy something from Spain this morning for my 1/8 scale buggy

Getting things in general is getting hard. Especially if they are from overseas.

I had a difficult time finding a 3S battery last month. Had one on backorder and every week they would push the expected in-stock date out. Finally cancelled the order and ended up having to order direct from traxxas (and paid over 25% more for it).

Most all is made in china. It's the quality control that sets apart the branded pricing.

Ive kinda put things on hold for a moment. I have a few things I need to buy; a set of class 0 tires, a bomber transmission part to fix it, a VP front axle for an origin build and a skid plate to swap into the capra that will convert it to a three gear transmission. I have not even touched stuff in months. Every one of my trucks could use some attention to cleaning up the wiring. The hobby shop in town closing really impacted the scene. they just built a fence around the best local rock spot. and we have had serious heat and smoke impacting the air quality due to wild fires.... if nothing else was going on this would be the best time of the year to get out in the mountains but thats where the fires are.....

Hobby shops develop followings and when they go, it's sad to see. We had a couple in town that were chains. We're lucky because a place called NorCal Hobbies open up. They've got an indoor track and hold outdoor races on Sunday's. The store has a great selection of RTR and kit vehicles and a great selection of parts. The owner is very knowledgable and seems to have good people working for him.

I feel pretty lucky to have NorCal.

I felt pretty lucky to live in Chico, CA at one time. I was able to walk into AMain's warehouse and buy my stuff right off a terminal in the lobby. They'd go out and pick it and done. I'm not sure if they still do that.

I underestimated the number of pieces...I'm not even halfway through the assembly.

@Suprajim54, I'm definitely going to need a cantilever setup and I'll lose the rear fender liners, possibly the fronts as well which means I'll have to purchase front shock towers too. The wheelbase is about the only thing I won't need to mess with.

I picked up a wraith 1.9 during the summer sale and have done quite a bit to it. SSD trail King axles with overdrive gears, bumper brace, eyeball link risers, stainless links, Mamba X with a Holmes puller pro, Reefs 444 servo. It’s a pretty fun buggy.

Then I had to get the scx10iii gladiator, the body is fantastic. Proline really screwed theirs up

Finally picked up my Arrma Senton after work yesterday. Drove it around a bit behind my apartment and its so fast! It's going to take me a while to get used to controlling it but I'm determined to enter a race someday.

More progress on the crawler hardboy. All that is left is to install the fender flares and modifications to the rear suspension and fender liners on the chassis. Well, I'll probably order lights and a new front bumper since the TRX4 bumper won't be a great fit with this body.
