I was all over that lasernut when it was announced, but ive seen diff issues, drive shaftshaft issues, just things that apparently need upgrades out of the box after one part of a run. I don’t have one but i was looking at something i could bash for a while and have fun without having something break right away. I still like the design and want a fun buggy like that. I say if its a good deal grab it and keep us updated.

Haha sounds like my kids with the power wheels. My daughter chases the trucks and tries to run them over.

That is what I’ve been reading. I plan to swap to a metal spur gear and change center diff fluid. Hopefully the diff issue is simple to fix but for a brand new Lasernut, S2100 charger and 2 4s smart lipos I’m only $500 in so I’m not concerned. Plan to sell a couple other cars to help fund the purchase/upgrades. Looks like it will be here Friday...:bananadance:

I have an air brush I haven't set up yet. Was going to filter and regulate it down from my big compressor. Lost motivation after I quit racing though. Racing is a bigger money pit than crawling if you can believe that.

I have been using the library to 3d print. But they are not open yet.

I thought Dylan was Rock Lobster...... He had a wraith....sorry

I have everything but a gun for airbrush. Piecing together a setup I got pretty decent with tamiya cans.

Got my Lasernut in the mail yesterday. The attention to detail and scale of this thing is insane. Love the hinging body and quick access. Added a battery and looks like the rear diff is the issue. Front is getting power and grabs but the rear tires just sit there. Going to tear into it and hopefully rebuild the diff tomorrow (came with spare bearings and gears). Also picked up a metal spur gear since I will have it apart. Wanted to update the CV’s since they are a weak point but Tekno is sold out of their upgraded CV’s so hopefully stock will hold up.

It does. Looks like an “upgraded” Twin Hammers.

Haha that was my first RC and still have it. I’ll post a comparison tomorrow, this thing is way more upgraded than my TH. Basically what the TH should have been for the price point 4 years ago.

I didn’t notice until now it is an indy rear, too. Nice. Some comparison pics if you still have the Twin Hammers would be nice. Wonder how it stacks up to the old Exo Terra performance wise. Pretty sure maintenance wise is hands down better. Lol.

Thought the Axial SMT10 looked fun, so picked up the builders kit and put it together this weekend. Salvaged electronics (and body for now) from a 2wd VXL Slash that was collecting dust. Turns out monster truck wheels/tires are not the easiest to track down, but found something that will work while I wait for stuff to ship. Excited to try it out.

Yeah Indy rear which is cool. Just tore both front and center diff apart and I believe the center was the issue. Still doesn’t want to brake much but it has the power back. I want to change pinion and rear gears out of precaution though. Completely rebuilt the center diff with all new gears. Also added a metal spur gear.

This thing rips now and is very stable. The lights look badass at night, very nice touch with the yellow pods. Was driving it into the driveway to put it away and hit wheel first on the cement Surprise surpsrise the cv snapped. Really wish tekno had their beefier kit in stock right now.

Here is quick pic of the two by each other. The Lasernut dwarfs the TH in every way.

First off, is that a VW Thing!?!!

Are the wheels on the LaserNut 1.9 or 2.2? It is a lot bigger for sure. You may be able to find some beefier CV axles from a different RC but then that'd pass the weak link further down the drivetrain. I got some GPM axles for my Exo but that was going from a dogbone to a CV, so it was already stronger by default. I want one of these now.

Haha yeah, it's my in-laws 64 Thing. My FIL has had it for years and unfortunately their property was involved in a fire recently so it can't be stored there anymore. Took the kids out Friday around the neighborhood delivering candy to friends. They love it.

The wheels are 2.2's so they are huge compared to the TH. Tekno has beefier CV's for the Tenacity line, but backordered till December. Hate to dish out money on stock parts that will probably break, but oh well. I can't wait to actually take it out. Plenty fast and super easy to work on. Rebuilt both rear and center diff in 45 min.

@Kappes03 Great choice on the Honcho. I've loved using mine and been a lot of fun seeing how capable it is around here in SoCal. Done lots of mods and painted up a new body and I built a 1/10 scale garage too. I was stoked I made it into the Readers Rides section of RC car action mag last July.B38D24D1-EE25-4A30-9837-AA06D7BAC370.jpg209532BA-BA6B-4EE0-8BE5-DD45863D6C37.jpg

Me and the old man are into Giant Scale r/c airplanes or 'Drones' as the government now classifies them.

There are a pair of Navy Trojan trainer planes that come up to Hattiesburg, MS out of Eglin AFB near Destin/Ft Walton, FL. They fly up and get an Uber, then go eat somewhere and fly back. I live maybe 20 miles west of the little regional airport they use on the southeast side of town and have seen them dozens of times just making a big circle around the city.

Nice to see some large scale war birds. I nearly cried when I crashed my $200 trainer plane for the last time and the nose exploded. I couldn't imagine taking the helm of one of those.

Never fun to crash them whatever the level or cost. good thing is, unless you really cream it, you can recover most of the expensive bits and re-use them. Its part of the hobby, and it happens..haha
