Anyone into R/C?

I have the chassis built now. I had a bunch of stuff from parting out another truck already but I needed a handful of things. I ordered them and will have them Friday. I had a cab with the body pinched and the bed bobbed. It has a bit of work still I think but its at the right length as of this afternoon. Had to Bob it again...... I need to sand a bit and paint it again. Links are built and axles mostly too except one that needs a ring and pinion and spool and it will be done. Then to figure out a lighter interior than the stock tamiya interior and drivers. I sat down and pointed it out at 43 points without any scale items. I'm feeling really good about this build. Need to go drive some too.

 

I ordered my Redcat gen8 v2 gonna arrive on the 7th.

 

Oh I meant more that I was going to pull the electronics and use it in my other build. Have a couple rigs on the way, will see which one I want to use as my main. Down the rabbit hole even more..

 

Well guess I'm getting back into the hobby lol

 

I want a drift car. I don't need a drift car

 

Lol my friend that works in fd convinced me to get one. I'm local to the drift track they featured the Hoonigans YouTube channel so I can take it there.

 

Here's the progress I've made on the kit so far.

 

Haven't posted in here for a bit. I'm still running a bit of indoor and also there are 2 outdoor places near me now, which is cool. So I refreshed my tires on almost all of my vehicles lately and trying some new things.

New, chunky outdoor tires for loose dirt.


These 2 I am hoping to practice indoor this week.


Both 4wd buggies got new tires also, for indoor.

Also, I'm thinking about buying a TLR 22 5.0 DC Race Roller Kit to build a mod car, since my 2wd is only a 17.5 and I sorta want to try to run a mod 2wd.

 

Drift car is up and running.

 

Here's some pics of my Tekno MT410 build. I've since upgraded it with a full skid plate and wheelie bar from t-bone racing and yellow/orange Tekno shock springs. Running a Futaba 4PM until funds permit switching to Sanwa. Servo is a Hitech D951TW, esc and motor are Tekin 2000kv combo. Also running Tekno aluminum extras for the servo arm and shocks.

Recently picked up an Iwata HP-BCS airbrush, a bunch of faskolor paints, bitty design liquid mask and bitty design airbrush stencils, but haven't got around to painting it yet. (Can't decide on color scheme or design)

Some other RC's in the stable include an original RC10 gold pan, a re-release RC10 gold pan and a couple of nitro traxxas trucks that have seen better days. Anybody still run stadium trucks? I've been eyeing the Team Associated T6.2.

Drew up this rear esc mount and had it cut out of titanium for fun lol.

 

Looks heavy. Is it advantageous to have weight at the back like that?

 

I've seen a lot of the drift cars setup this way so im assuming it is. Before doing this I added 1oz of weight back there and it made a pretty big difference in grip. So figured I'd try this, a bit extreme but we'll see how it does.

Those are awesome. Even with all the new stuff that's come out those still do great and that color scheme looks great

 

This weekend's project.

 

Well after a few weeks of acquiring the last thing I forgot a half dozen times.... I have finally got the GameChanger 4.3 where I want it to be for rocas rojo in two weeks. I drove it through my rock garden and was was impressed with how nimble it is. It took a bit more filing and a bit more gluing but it points out at 50pts per sorrca class 2 ruleset. I'd like to swap the front bumper for something with better approach angle and a fairlead mounted on top instead of out front. They are never finished though right??? So next iteration will have a better bumper. This dark blue metallic came out way closer to purple. I'm ok with that though and it's a different color for sure.
