I finally got this almost complete. A bit more weathering and I'll get it put into the 4runner

Check out horizon hobby online anything from Ecx or Redcat will be cheaper but OK quality wise. If you are running outdoors get something 1/10 scale as it'll cope with grass better.

If you can afford it Arrma or Traxxas is better quality.

    Here are some examples

Arrma Granite for $100 <- probably another 20-30 for a cheap battery and charger
    https://www.horizonhobby.com/produc...brushed-mega-monster-truck-rtr/ARA102727.html

ECX Amp buggy $150 <- comes with battery and charger
    https://www.horizonhobby.com/product/1-10-amp-db-2wd-desert-buggy-rtr/ECX03029.html

ECX Amp crush $160 <- comes with a battery and charger
    https://www.horizonhobby.com/product/1-10-amp-crush-mt-2wd-rtr/ECX03048.html

Personally I'd probably splurge on a nice lipo battery and a good charger. Will make it more fun and run faster.

SCX10iii is my first portal rig, and I notice a big difference not dragging the axles. The dig is pretty cool, too.

edit; totally forgot I have a TRX4 (I probably have way too many RC’s). It works pretty well too.

Could always start small and buy the Axial SCX24 they are about a hundred and change and quite a bit of fun. Plus winter is coming so indoor crawling is a load of fun. Mine is an ECX Barrage a little cheaper but still fun same 1/24th scale though.

Unfortunately prices are going up now. I wish Axial would release an SCX10iii builders kit like the SCX10ii raw builders kit.

Lots of options for RC enthusiasts that are into crawlers these days. I wish the 1/10 nitro stadium trucks and the Clodzilla conversion kits for the Tamiya Clodbusters would come back.
