Anyone into R/C?

The dig really helps with the length of the Gladiator. I put in a Holmes 540 crawlmaster sport 21t motor and SVH500 servo, SSD portal, knuckle, and rotor, and diff cover weights, Vanquish under drive gears in the back, and mytrickrc light kit. It looks and works great.

 

I go to the hobby shop a lot with my son and I am always temped to buy one of these... they are $$$$$$$$$ though.. my wife would KILL me

 

the 6x6 Merecedes looks fun as well

 

get the Redcat gen8 v2 it's just 329. 99 and you need a battery and a charger perfect build to start on. I have one and love it.

been lurking in here so thought id share these two dont mess with them much anymore but i still like them a lot


orignal scx10 honcho (has had loads of bodies on it) currently running no electronics because they broke and a banged up and cut rc4wd body


scx10ii (was the Cherokee) with orignal honcho bed and proline hilux cab it had a bed buuuut it broke lol


i also have a twin hammer vattera that i dont have a pic of and a few traxxas trucks (all broken) and a ecx buggy also no photos atm

 

Picking up my new body for the drift car on Thursday so I got some paint and liquid mask.

 

Vanquish is in Sacramento.. they make legit RC stuff..

 

if you want to pay thru the nose for it

 

Pay for quality and help a neighbor.. you would do the same for a local business

 

What psi and spray gun do you use for the bitty design liquid mask or do you brush it by hand? I haven't used spaz stix before, but they have some awesome colors.

 

I grabbed a Holmes torque master motor, a bec and got a raw500 from reefs. I'm hoping there is a tekin fxr somewhere in my hobby area as well as a spare Futaba receiver...... Ready to box up the marlin body and the rtr electronics and drives this truck through some gates.

 

It's one thing to pay for quality, to pay that much is unbelievable.

 

If it makes you feel better I've bought one and sold it. The tracks are cool to look at but not very good. They are slow, don't have much traction or use outside of some light snow. The truck itself is pretty fun as is but... I like the axial SCX10s for crawlers.

 

This is the first time I use this liquid mask. I used to use fasmask by Parma, and I've always brushed it on. I havent air brushed in like 5 years so im not going crazy with the scheme. Their candy blue is my absolute favorite. You can back it with metallic silver or chrome and both are awesome. I decided on chrome this time. I'll post up picture of the body when it's done.

 

Very nice. My original plan was to build a mini truck with the RC4wd xtra cab body, but i think it’s class 1 now.

Okay thanks. Amain Hobbies suggested I spray it at 35-40 psi, so I picked up a cheap harbor freight spray gun. I've read you can brush it on as well, but it takes about 3 coats. I've never airbrushed, but I thought I'd give it a whirl. I've been gathering paint supplies for my Tekno MT410 and plan to spray out a few lexan scrap pieces and then a 72 Chevy C10 and a 2017 Ford Raptor body once the weather cools off here in AZ. Should be fun. I'll probably pick up a few spaz stix paints while I'm at it.

 

So is anyone running a winch on there RC and if so how did you hook it up anything specific/special . Looking at putting one on my scx10 II Trail honcho

 

Vanquish is premium rc crawler stuff. If your budget allows there is not much that is superior to a vs410. If you are concerned about prices this hobby is not for you.....



I have brushed on bitty designs liquid mask. A thin coat brushed one direction, let dry 24 hours then a second thin coat brushing the opposite way from the first coat. Criss cross the brush strokes I mean. Mine was sufficient with two coats. Not a ton of tight areas on that body though.


I have servo winches on most of my trucks. A few have an rc4wd warn winch on them. The rc4wd has a couple options for controllers they tie into you receiver for power. One has its own remote the other uses a radio channel so you need a radio with a 3rd channel 3 position switch. The servo winches are more powerful and faster too. They usually have a controller that requires a channel on the radio
