I added up hours worked to pay for hours played and realized that building was the most enjoyment for me.

Yeah we have a great local scene. it's strong 10th scale and there is both comp and trail runs almost every weekend about an hour away and a half away in Denver. Sometimes closer depending on the location in the foothills or if the true locals are getting out... Lot of closed trails to this sort of interest...

I was hopeful for a monster truck scene growing before the pandemic but that has faded. Now I have an smt10 that I barely drive with enough invested to cover the scx6....

I too like to build them mush as anything. If it was a kit I'd be more intrigued

Omg, that’s funny. I do that in my head sometimes to justify purchases, and it makes sense. But in the end I’m like…did I really need this? Probably not. Building is definitely the most enjoyment for me.

Is 1/8 scale ebuggy still a thing or is everyone pretty much into crawlers anymore?
We havent run ours in a few years so we broke them out on my track last weekend. Still a blast and take a beating. If was so much fun if the weather holds I am going to get all my short course trucks out.

Colorado still has a few tracks with a good 1/8 ebuggy interest. Not my interest as I am into crawlers.

I'm on the verge of diving into a drift car.... Anyone have one? I have a tt01d currently but seeing the new drift with rwd is very intriguing with the gyros and all

Many years ago I had a nitro Traxxas rustler with proline "road rage" street tires. It practically was a drift car and a wheelie car for that matter. Ran that sucker full throttle for hours at a time until one day it exploded into pieces when I smacked a curb. Neighbors loved it. :D:boink:

I love 1/8 scale buggy, i actually converted my Ofna Hyper into an E buggy a few years ago.

Go with the MST RMX 2.0, great beginner chassis and can easily hang with pro spec cars.

A few posts back I showed a wooden cart Ive been pulling my son in using my 8s Maxx. I bent one of the axles being dumb and doing donuts with the . He wasn't in it

Anyway I started over with a larger 10mm steel axle. It's actually a linear rail from a cheap cnc router. So far I put the box together, and most of the suspension. I still need to cleanup the wood a little. I sorta rushed it.

For the springs, I'm going to try and use 6.5mm piano wire. I'm not sure how well it'll work. I'm a bit worried it's going to break the 3d printed mount.

had some fun running these guys around just a bit ago for the first time in a while.

    20210928_191052.jpg

    here's some background:

the mustang (hpi chassis) was given to me. I put new wheels and tires on and went brushless motor and esc after the original brushed esc died (it was on its way out when i got it). Then months later I had the crazy idea to build a trailer for it, so I did. the trailer platform has basically been the same since the beginning, but I have changed/re-done a lot of things over time. shortly after trailer design started, I knew I needed a truck to pull it... so I went with a Vaterra V100 C10. pulls the rig great and is still fun by itself.

Here's what the mustang looked like the day i got it vs what it looks like now.

I love to tinker, so all have gone through several configurations. and i beat the crap out of that mustang.

I remade the cart. This time using a 10mm linear rail. It's got 3 link suspension with 7" lawn mower wheels on 14mm ball bearings. I'm waiting on a McMaster Car order with the springs. It'll have about 30mm of travel. Combined spring rate is about 4lbs/mm
