Saw an add for a half off FMS 6x6 power wagon, so I went to check out what else was on sale and it turns out these were on sale too. I've wanted one for too long to ignore when it's this cheap and I've already got the remote, receiver, servos, and batteries. All I'll have to do is slap a motor and esc in there and call it good. Thinking I might try a hobbywing fusion se on 3s to keep it sane and simple. I know some people want theirs to go Mach 12, but for me this is a rock bouncer, not a trophy truck. For about $300 all in, how could I say no. They've got a couple other FMS and Axial things on sale too if anyone's looking:

You might be disappointed with the FMS 6x6 Power Wagon, They are almost giving them away because the ESC has very little low speed control, it's almost either on or off. That being said, those who do have one find that switching out the ESC/TX combo with the G3-V2 or another brand of your choice are having much better luck with it. It's a cool machine but the TX/RX leave a bit to be desired.
(I've been eyeballing it too for a while now)
Bezo's offers next day delivery on it and might have it for the sale price too.

I ended up not getting the FMS and just got the rbx10 instead. The fms is just what drew my attention to the sale. Good to know though, since I was thinking about getting one some time in the future.

for $80 bones, it makes it less painful to upgrade it. Just checked out that sale myself, kind of bummed I paid $235 for that 1/12 scale jeep that is on sale now for $99.

Ouch, that always hurts, kind of why I pushed myself to get the rbx. I'm surprised they put this stuff on such a firesale. How do you like the jeep though? I always thought it'd be cool to have one of those old style jeeps and really waterproof everything to do dumb jeep stuff when the place I normally go crawling floods during the winter.

Definitely not waterproof out of the box. Really nice scale features, the leaf springs are a nice touch and they work well. No shocks to speak of, just for show but it's not bouncy with the leafs. Very stout drivetrain, all metal gears and driveshafts, the main body is pretty durable but all the little bits and pieces will get knocked off with spirited driving. Nice grippy tires, will climb a steeper grade than anything else I own, but very little ground clearance and impossible to upgrade tires and wheels or lift it due to the 5 lug (screws) mounting and the leaf springs.
If you wanted one to actually wheel with, the 1/6 scale is a better choice and uses actual shocks and a 4 link suspension. It's closer to 1/10 scale imo.
It became a very expensive shelf queen that gets used indoors on the carpet.

Thanks for the info. I expected to have to replace all the electronics anyways, but that specialty wheel mounting is a major turn off. I won't be getting anything new for a while now anyways, at least that's what I'm telling myself today :anonymous:

I've read you can boil tires/wheels to separate them and clean up the glue, but I've always bought replacements instead. :notsure:

I might go pick up a pot at goodwill and give that a try. I'll have to figure out something long term, but for now I'd just like to get the tires reglued since the tread is still fine.

I have one and can compare it to the XMAXX. They're both pretty awesome but I think the Arrma is a better product for the money.
