That is good to know now I'm glad I didn't get them. I haven't had the Patagonia's that long but so far they have been great. They are 1.9 x 4.7 with the X2S³ compound. There are so many different tires with different compounds you can go crazy trying to choose one.

I hate rc3wd tire compounds. They have the best licensed tires but I wish Proline go was what they used.

I really like Proline tires... hyrax, super swamper, and krawlers are usually what I choose.

Everyone raves over the hyrax but I haven't had the chance to try them yet. I have the boggers on my capra and I like them a lot. They are the biggest 1.9 tire I could find and fit perfectly on the capra.

I have maybe 2x 2200 batteries ran in this. There’re 2.2 with proper CI comp cut foams and worked fantastic on large rip rap stones. I just lost the bug to chase down terrain as there isn’t much natural rocks where I am located. The full size foams let the tread do the work instead of conventional ‘aired down’ performance.

    @Age315

Any suggestions on how to get the bearings out of the steering bells?

Went to the drift track at the local hobby shop for the first time. First time drifting in a few years and I'm very rusty and the chassis needs a lot of tuning, but I had a ton of fun.

While I was there, though, I saw they had a Tamiya BB-01 kit. I preordered one from Tower Hobbies back in February but even though the kit came out in June due to supply chain issues I never got mine so I canceled the ordered. This one was just sitting there when I walked into the store and the employee told me they had just gotten it the night before after waiting a while for it, and it was their only one.

Needless to say, I bought it. :D

Since new this truck has been having intermittent coms problems. Seems like every 10-30 minutes it would unbind, and there was a lot of noise on the steering channel.

Enter a random impulse buy of the radiolink 7 ch tx/rx with telemetry and gyro. It's way overkill but the price wasn't bad for the features, and the programmable curves are pretty awesome.

Unfortunately in tuning it I smashed a fender. Thank goodness I had the 3d file on hand and could print a replacement.

It's fairly obvious now that the the steering servo has a lot more slop than I had noticed previously. I might have to upgrade that next.

I have an older version of that Tx/Rx and have had good results with it. I bought mine then the next iterations had a usb port for programming.

What I was thinking. Maybe mount some servos on the suspension, too.

I have seen them in person and the stock plastic tracks leave a lot to be desired. The guy who bought it burned up the motors too. I think they are a bit weak for the resistance of the tracks....

I did see they had metal tracks available and someone had made a 540 conversion to run a larger motor....

Seems like a lot to really get it right

I had 30 bucks to toss out the window, so I thought I'd swap the motor for a 12T and see what happens. :anonymous:

I was not expecting the answer to be "do donuts on bare concrete and lose a fight to the patio furniture", but here we are. I learned something today.
