Im thinking about selling my 1/8 scale drag car. Just wondering if anyone out there would be interested? It has a carbon fiber body with wheelie bar. All aluminum gears. foam tires with a mini servo up front. All u need is a motor and remote. I also have a Lipo battery ill put with it that is made for it with size and weight. I had a mamba max motor in it with that lipo and it was extremely fast around 80mph. I now have that motor in my Rustler. Let me know if anyone is interested and ill post some pics.

The reason I ask is because I just got my brother a Traxxas slash vxl and im going to need more than one charger.

What about the hobbyking multi charger or the Hobbypartz multi charger?

Pretty much any charger from HP is gonna be solid. I prefer ordering from HP. HK shipping takes forever since most of their stuff ships from overseas

Well, tried soldering the Deans connectors to the Gens Ace 40C and...it wasn't pretty.

I got a physically strong connection (meaning they feel solid when pulled on), but I have no idea how good the actual connection will be.

I had no idea how difficult it was going to be to fit the 12awg wire off the batteries onto the Deans. Barely enough room.

With as long as it took me to do that, I may just have to forget converting and use some adapters.

For those of you running the Gens Ace (non-direct version), did you make the conversion to Deans? If so, want to do my other three for me? :D

Soldering Deans is a pain in the ass. I just did a lot of them. I'm thinking about switching over to EC3

Did you use a "third hand tool"? You can pick one up for five bucks or so.

third hands are a must....or a vise or something to secure the plug.

Yeah - thankfully I picked one of those up when I got my soldering iron.

I think it was a combination of wiring that was too big (12awg seemed massive), plus a soldering iron that was too hot with too big of a tip :)p).

For the next two batteries and the ESCs, I think I'll just bring it all in to my LHS and have them do it for a few bucks per connector. :D

IMO, there is no such thing as a iron that's too hot, too big, yes. Strip a very small amount of insulation (don't forget to slide on your shrink tubing, that will piss you off), tin the wire and the "tab" on the plug, position in the third hand, apply heat. Let cool, slide up shrink tubing, shrink, enjoy. I have not looked, but there has to be a YouTube vid of the proper way to do this.

There a ton of YouTube videos on it, and I did it exactly as they showed. If it weren't for the massive 12awg wire on the Gens Ace batteries, it wouldn't have been an issue at all. I got one of them done, but there is less than 1mm clearance between the tabs/wires on the plug.

Anyone have any idea if the 12awg wire will give me problems on EC3 connectors? I've decided Deans plugs aren't what my heart desires. I'm ordering a fuck-ton of stuff soon and will have several things to put EC3's on..

Just buy adapters, that's what I did. Have you thought about Traxxas connectors? I like those a little better than Deans. Easier to solder and pull apart.
