I have it on the calendar. Couple other conflicts Saturday night. Truck was dropped off today for some work. Hoping it's ready to be picked up soon. If it's ready I might make it

Saw this thread pop up. Been in the RC game awhile posted once or twice here before.

Just wanted to say. People in the crawler / trail truck world.

The HOBBYWING Quicrun Fusion SE (1800kv) 2in1 system has blown my mind in my crawler focused RR10 axial bomber.

So simple, so insanely powerful, waterproof, just works mentality.

I replaced a Castle Copperhead 10 esc and sensorsed 1850kv motor with the Fusion SE and the experience has been so much better. It's ABSOLUTELY bonkers how fine n slow you can spin the motor of the Fusion SE.

Since my last checkin here. I sold off my slash 4x4 (it was too much maintenance on 3s) and picked up a vxl 2wd LCG shash with TSM.

The 2wd chassis brings me right back to my first rustler with a mechanical speed control. Simple to work on and is a hoot to drive. TSM initially thought was a gimmick but on loose stuff is a godsend!

Super g down in Long Beach is like 1-3hrs depending on traffic.

The one down the street from me aims to be another super g!

Printed some sliders for the Toyota that a member on FB uploaded to thingiverse. They fit so well and keep the body from flexing.

When I lived in Ohio, I used to race carpet oval and 1/12 on-road back in the '90s. The smell of wintergreen still sparks memories of traction compound. LOL... Currently my three local track choices in central TX in order of distance are drifting, 1/8 offroad and asphalt onroad. Of the three, I only make the effort to race 1/8 ebug anymore.

There is a new laid back local racer group that meets up at parking decks, loading docks or other appropriate lots. We use an inexpensive IR timing system and race Losi Mini Bs and Ts, Tamiya Euro trucks and Tamiya Lunchboxes/Pumpkins. It's a nice step away from the uber-competitive crowd and those who take RC too seriously.

I’ve been down a rabbit hole lately getting my Kyosho Jimny converted over to a short wheelbase SCX. Also been playing with tires on the FCX18.

New quad bypasses for the UDR. How about those "Ching" decals lol. In theory they are completely functional bypasses with check balls and springs and threaded rods to adjust tension. I do not believe they will offer any performance and will probably be worse than stock. But they look cool.

Joining in on the fun here...

Been into RCs my whole life, was fortunate to have a bunch as a kid and got extremely into XMods in my early teen years (the collection of which I unearthed and have been tinkering with, though they're a bit worse for wear and pretty fragile at this point).

Summer of '22 I bought an Axial Yeti Jr. (the Can-Am Maverick one) and it immediately rekindled my love of the hobby, then last Christmas Eve I picked up a Traxxas TRX4M Defender which I've been playing with inside (I use my daughter's playroom as a crawler course, haha). Just stripped off the roll cage / roof rack to bring the COG down a bit and got an Injora 48T for it which should be a solid replacement for the dying stock motor. Only upgrading the TRX4M as needed, but it's a fun little rig.

Now I'm ready to explore more and am looking to get a 1/10 crawler. Originally wanted to go Traxxas TRX4 but the prices are steering me away-- I can probably spend $500 at the high end, so $499 plus a battery plus a charger at >$600 without trying blows the budget. Instead I'm looking at the Traxxas TRX4 Sport (would miss the two-speed transmission and locking/unlocking diffs the full-feature TRX4 has, but not the end of the world), Element Gatekeeper, Element Zuul, Element Sendero, Element Ecto, Redcat Everest Ascent, Vanquish Phoenix, Axial SCX10 III Base Camp, and Axial SCX10 II Deadbolt. Anyone have experience, insight, or input on this? Figure 90% crawling, 10% trail.
