Sound like we need to have a full size/scale picnic off the paved roads now that there are a handful of us with crawlers here now too....

I upgraded the driveshafts on my bronco only because I geared the transmission and diffs as low as possible, upgraded the motor, and put brass wheels on. I figured it would only be a matter of time before they stripped with all that extra torque on the system.

Here I am running my superglued oe driveshaft with aftermarket motor/crawlers gears and brass wheels and sticky tires. Can’t seem to break it again, have a spare Traxxas driveshaft too.

I do like the Traxxas driveshafts though - no need to bother with phasing them. I did heat shrink all the orings though.

I'm going to disassemble it today and thread lock and grease it.

Well I have nothing but my modified Gen8 V2 to compare it to but the Fusion blows it out of the water. Brushless is the way ro go! I just need to figure out a bed with a small roll cage as I really hate chewing carbon fiber on the rocks. :anonymous:

Have had this this Wraith for too long with just a 54T motor in it, looking for suggestions for an ESC and possibly controller that would fit in the hands of a 2-3 yr old? Currently it goes on long walks around the basement with a leash.

Was debating this ARC-2, LiPo compatible and drag brake, just needs to crawl around the back yard and campsites. Have various LiPo's from other RC's, would hope to get away with the 2S currently used in the drift car (RMX 2.5).

I’ve got a pair of OG Wraiths and use the HobbyWing 1080 with good results. Not too pricy and programmable.

Axial is having some more sales. While they typically aren't great, the scx24 power wagon is going for $120. Picked one up with thoughts about modifying it into a swivel frame. Don't know how reasonable that is on the 1/24 scale, but it should be interesting.

$89 for a 1/24 Deadbolt is tempting too

Hadn't looked at HobbyWing, thanks for pointing me in the direction, specs look good and price is on par also.

Posted this on Reddit, curious to hear y'all's thoughts:

My TRX4M build is pretty standard with an Injora motor, IR40 body, wheels/tires, and 59mm shocks with 20wt oil. Wondering what kind of setup everyone is running for rock crawling: Stiff shocks (lot of oil, soft springs, preload to the top of the shock shaft) with soft springs, or soft shocks (light oil, stiff springs, preload spun to the bottom of the shock shaft) with stiff springs?
