I have talked myself out of that arrma 3 or 4 times now. Next time I'm not sure I'll be able to tell myself no

They are pretty good value. More rugged than their Traxxas equivalents. At least, that's my opinion.

If you’re on the fence, I would do it! I built a ramp out of a box and it’s so fun to jump it around in the back yard. If your grass is short enough the truck will handle it just fine.

So things have escalated significantly with your Ascent 1/18 lol

Did you do the FMS metal trans gears or the Treal ones? I did the FMS ones and am still battling it. Currently non-functional.

That the Mojave Grom? I've been debating picking one up... purely for science...

Yeah.. the Ascent is too fun to not tinker with! It's very capable out of the box so it feels like modifications are justified lol.

I did do the FMS metal transmission gears, but I lost 1st gear. I think the shift fork wasn't pushing the selector into the gear hard enough because it would kind of half engage but not work under any sort of load.

I ended up putting a 0.5mm thick 3mm shim underneath 1st gear and it works:

The Arrma is so much fun. I've gotten two other friends to buy them as well!

That gearbox is going to be the end of me. I'm losing my mind trying to get it to shift even with the shift fork perfectly aligned. Might give your shim idea a shot.

Also might have to give the Grom a shot...

You will have to get pics of your Grom jumping over your Grom. :D Notice I didn't specify which one over the other. LOL...

Getting a used honcho and already buying mods for it before I even have it. This isn't going to end well for me because when I get into something I get INTO it.

    What’s poppin? New guy here.

I have been playing with the Traxxs TRX-4M, for the last few weeks. Been having fun with it. Not planing on upgrades (yet). Just the kid in me having fun with it.

Yes!!! Welcome to the addiction. It's so fun straight out of the box you don't need to do anything!

(Except I'm changing out most things in mine already...).

TRX4M was my first "serious" crawler. Still love the damn thing, all these Injora parts later haha. Need to sort out why the motor is cutting out under load though. Another project...

Also, I'm convinced that the Mojave Grom is my next buy.

    Damn you! Haha

been running the Grom through the yard and up and down the street. Gotta go to the park up the street with a dirt parking lot, as to not tear the tires up on the rough asphalt street in front of the house. Might have to wait till tomorrow from all the rain the last couple days.

Already thinking of swapping out the rear wheels for black, or at each corner for something to do.

I've been sliding mine around on asphalt, rough concrete, etc and it hasn't really worn the tires down very much. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

I'm sure I'll wear them down quickly with brushless but that's OK. :D
