@Strictlytoyz you're gonna love the Ascent 18, IMO best affordable entry level crawler out there

The vanquish is a very nice platform. It performs better than my axial scx10iii. I do wish it had extra features like a selectable 2 speed transmission for hooning. The Traxxas trx4 and fms fcx10 seem to have the features nailed.

    Sometimes less is more though.

Had an absolute blast with it so far. Just crawling around in the living room. Gonna really push it this weekend and see where I can make improvements. Can already see it'll benefit with more weight down low and overdrive/underdrive gears.

Hit up Injora's sale and go crazy! Weight, driveshafts and OD/UD gears are all good to have.

I definitely plan on taking advantage of the sales! Gonna get some baselines today and really see how it'll perform outdoors on a little course I'm making and go from there.

I was going to get some new tire inserts, wheels and maybe some brass from Injora, but it wasn't enough to hit their good sales discount numbers. I told a friend to let me know when he orders so I can combine with him and he just ordered his stuff without me. :boink:

I hear a little bit of weight (wheels/diffs) is the best way to start.

I may buy some stuff even though I don't have an SCX24 (yet) - going to the hobby store today just so the little dude and I can get out for a bit

I highly recommend Injora's brass wheels and diff covers. My trx4m with those stays glued to the ground, even underwater. I'd expect even more so on an scx24.

because of my weight limits, I purchased this little truck a few years ago. It's about 30-35 mph, and it will take a licking and keep on ticking. I've flipped it and bashed it too many time to count. But you can't purchase them online anymore. When I found that out went to my local rc store and purchased several parts that I would need to keep it running. hardest things to find today are new batteries. But I keep it going and it's a blast. My neighbor has a 1/10 scale but that's too much weight for me to pick up. Have a good one.

Quick question for you rc gurus. Looking at overdrive and underdrive gears for my ascent 18. I've found that Injora's over drive portal gearset for the front is not compatible with their brass knuckle housings. My question is, If I were to instead change the gearing in the front diff with their helical gears would this cause excessive binding in the drive shafts/trans or would this be no different than changing out the portal gear sets?

I've heard others say the portal gears don't work with the brass knuckles but I have both on mine and have no issues.

Yeah im finding mixed results on the webs. Injoras website has no note of this, but I found another website selling injoras gearsets with a note stating that it will not work with injora brass knuckles in the front

I ended up ordering a set of 2.2s for the LC80. I’m super excited but I think delivery is estimated for February.

This thing fucks right out the box, don't mind the butchered cuts I'll clean it up lol. I was tired of hearing it rub. This section broke my front driveshaft twice now. Time for steel drive shafts
