    Out with the old

    20250105_095633.jpg

    In with the new

    20250105_095627.jpg

Pretty quick and easy to do

    20250105_102224.jpg

Not excited that I had to do it though, screw would easily pop out the lower skid holding the lower link in place

Those little beadlocks are beautiful, nice machining, screws go in well for the size they are.
But they will absolutely not hold a tire at all.
    :nuclear:
Screws have to be left backed out about 1mm for a big enough gap to keep the bead in. Any kind of tight after that and it just slips out. At that point, they are no better than solid wheels that need glued anyway. fmita.

Well, ran through it like 10 times and links are fully secure.

If metal on metal banging can't rip anything off, it'll be good to go on rocks and small ledges when I take it outside again.

I know I know, half-assed "course" but I don't plan to build one at home until down the road in the backyard. This is just to ensure everything is cycling correctly as well as being fully secured.

It's just for test purposes of course!

Making sure nothing binds or falls apart before taking it to the park.

It's a real test on the tires too cause those fixtures have a smooth finish on them. The stock wheels literally slide right off.

I just ordered another, different set of bead locks, from Tiny4x4. Like I should have done in the first place. This would have been done by now.

    NICE!

I'll be curious to see future vids of your setup running, especially with those pumpkins giving you better clearance

Didn't realize another company made off the shelf links for these chassis though! I know there was one builder named in Mazz website, but when I checked it out, he just builds custom links.

I can't order custom links if IDK what the hell to ask for

Yeah so there's 828RC and RCaddiction that are recommended by MAZZ. I actually almost got 828RC links for my ascent but decided to just go the cheap route. Heard good things about 828RC links but wanted to give the RCaddiction links a try.

    @Strictlytoyz

Not to scare ya, since we'll be running the same chassis but with different parts.

I found a comparison of someone switching out their RCAddiction links with Mazz - the reason being that front links do indeed provide more clearance but create a means of shit getting caught up in front of the skid.

@Kwikvette very interesting, thanks for sharing. Once it's all together and i can get some testing done I'll update. I wanted the mazz links to begin with but my impatience took over and decided to give the other options a try. I wonder if the other skid option would help at all?

So, Mazz finally replied (I had emailed him 3 days ago) and shared his MIL discount code.

Kind of late for the chassis as I used some youtuber's code anyway

Well in my email I did include the question about stock, and when they expect to have links available. He said he's waiting for hardware so about +2 weeks from now.

Gives me time to figure out the remainder of my parts for the build.

As for the skid thing, I think it had more to do with motor clearance (front facing motor + interference with front links depending on the build). At least, that's what the skid choices are helping to avoid. Going with the motor I went, I'm hoping I don't run into any interference. :fingerscrossed:

Parts showed up! I plan on installing everything later this week. Hoping the heavier wheel and tire setup will help keep it from tipping back on steep climbs.

    Oooh I'm digging that color.

Use a little loctite or tighten those screws on those wheels pretty well! When I replaced my skid yesterday I noticed I had lost one of my screws so I put loctite on the replacement as well as all the rest.
