Nice! Wish we still had a hobby shop here. Seen a bunch of micro rx's for the spektrum tx's while I was looking for one for my flysky. Can't remember which axles you decided to go with, but stumbled on these skids for meus axles. Might see if I'm able to mod them to work with my super 8's

    https://www.etsy.com/listing/1709455761/meus-differential-slider-for-scx24?click_key=9fea7a141a595944caf71c2147b6cb948ab850a4:1709455761&click_sum=d6f6e0fd&ref=related-1

Edit: just found some for the super 8's. See how often my axles get hung up before I purchase one.

Yes! I did see those in a video but never looked them up on Etsy.

I did go with Meus axles so that would indeed benefit me.

I only finally bought the TX/RX combo cause the hobby shop is near my wife's dentist, and she had an appointment today. Since she was getting numbed and stuff, she insisted I drop her off and pick her up so I hung out at the shop for a bit.

Remind me to take pics of my transmission end and driveshafts so you can see the setup.

Redid the frame, curves in the corners for easier sliding. Shortened the links by 5mm all the way around. It did not negatively affect the articulation one bit, it's actually better.
    Improved the breakover angle.

Tires really make a difference. Not sure if I want them this fat, but these really woke it up.

Was only getting 3 tires before.

I think a VW Bug in 1/24 would look good on it.

    @Strictlytoyz

    ESC arrived!

    20250108_181804.jpg

Axles and chassis should be about another week.

Tires arrive in a few days.

Then it'll just be wheel, shocks, and links whenever I get the invoice for those.

As for the transmission shaft and driveshaft here you go -

Siiiick! Can't wait to get these things together and take it on its maiden run for testing. First piece of my build has arrived. I may infact get the diff skids seeing as how square these housings are

    20250108_163104.jpg

    They are indeed "D" shaped

Oooh shoot that's right, the shaft coming out of the diffs.

I'm sure mine are correct. We'll see once they arrive.

Ended up canceling my order and getting the "D" hole injora driveshafts in gladiator length. Just wish they came in black. Seems every company that has a black driveshat has an "O" hole. I don't want any unnecessary slop in my driveline. A lot of my stuff will be arriving next week.

Probably large enough to accept the standard?

I lucked out I guess because I did order my Meus axles in silver. I hate silver actually but I went this route mainly cause goodies like links are all silver-colored.

Should stand out well with a dark-colored body.

The only difference in the D and the O shafts is the pain in the ass to match them up imo.
I've had both designs be sloppy and or tight. The D is supposed to take more torque, but I've personally stripped those. It really comes down to the screw through the shaft.
Also, you can take D female ends and drill them out to fit O shafts.

I believe you can use the "O" hole shafts on "D" shaped axle and trans but I'd rather not rely on just the screw to keep things in place. Just opened up the axles to make sure there was grease in there. There sure was!

I prefer the round shafts, it's all about the diameter.

I'll be running 2S only, I hope I don't go pushing things hard enough to strip them :bananadead:

Ever had a screw break or get bent in the round hole shafts? I keep reading about excessive play/too much load being put on the screw.

The D shaft will definitely handle higher torque. Yes, i've twisted them right off.
Excessive play really comes down to tolerances. Sometimes plastic is tighter, albeit maybe weaker in the joint.

I'm very surprised how smooth the meus axles spin for worm gear drive. My truck actually rolls a bit without drag break.

I have RC4WD wheels that don't fit even though I grabbed the hex adapters from RC4WD to fit the scx24. I think the center hole needs to be 3.0mm and currently is around 2.8. They have been good about responding to my inquiry but have since referred this problem to the "engineers". I'm hopeful that they offer some resolution because I may have grabbed two sets.

I just realized, with the massive fires hitting LA County I might not see my axles for some time.

They came in to LA (distribution center) and have sat for the last 2 days.

Something tells me they'll be there for awhile :bananadead:

I just checked, my tires for the 1/32 buggy are currently in CA as well.

    @Strictlytoyz

So the links he's building me are C-Bolt; I only learned this term like 2 days ago and it consists of a C-10 front and Deadbolt rear (as far as lengths go).

It's what he suggests for best performance.

Here's a pic of the setup using the Cliffhanger body I got.
