Seen that term on Mazz's site for his links. Good to know that's the wheelbase result. I just got gladiator links cause I wanted to ensure my front tires sat I front of my front end. May change up, well see

For something that started out as a "see if I can" project, it turned out way better than I expected. It's not fast. But it's quiet, super flexy, and just slinks over things that bring the Power Wagon to a halt. The FMS Power Wagon is a fairly good basher/crawler. All the upgrades, hot motor, 2 speeds. A yard of drivetrain slop. It's running 60mm tires, which are what it came with stock. It was my go to favorite for backyard crawling.

After designing it around 55mm tires, and then trying out the 68mm, I just had to order these.

    White, because next day delivery.
And these. They should have no problem ripping the front shocks right off.

It was originally a 1/18. the FMS trucks pictured are 1/24... I still think a Baja Bug would be a good look. It's one of those things where I need the body in my hand to see the fit.
Side note, that wee tiny servo is hanging in there just fine. It had enough torque to rip itself off the servo tape during a bind situation with those bigger tires. So I improved the mount.

    Use loctite on those wheels!

I lost one of the small screws when I took it out crawling at the park. Only realized it after I got home and replaced the skid.

    Good advice.
I have two sets of those wheels. The Power Wagon and Mini Z has them in gray.

The savage beast has won the battle but not the war. It'll take a few more packs but I will train her to flip it back over, she's already an expert in drone retrieval. :plane:

This little truck rips though. Perfect size and speed to entertain the doggo. TBH I didn't realize I had I had throttle limited at first because the stock controller is super cheapo. It was eye opening when I got it cranked to 100% the first time. Definitely too much power for regular bashing, it just ends up tumbling violently so I have been leaving it dialed down to like 80%. Thinking it's worth grabbing one of those $150 Futabas for digital trim/expo, it's a bit too easy to bump the knobs on the stocker. Also the shock damping is too firm for my bumpy grass, it bounces instead of soaking/floating over the bumps. I'm not really planning on sending this off big jumps so I will put in some lighter stuff. Stock is 30W so I will probably try some 15W to see if I can get it a bit more planted. :bikewhoops:

I got the grey set on my LC

I'm almost tempted to steal them and put them on the new crawler build cause I can't decide what wheels to buy for it :bananadead:

Been reading that it's fairly common for LGRP's front cv axle shafts to break. May pick up a set of +8mm exo shafts when they're back in stock as back up axles.

I don't think Meus offers replacement axles, so that'll suck if I ever broke them :bananadead:

It's hard getting info in some of the groups I'm in. This fellas said I wasted money on the super 8's so I asked for more information as to why or how they suck. Idk did I come off in a bad way? :notsure:

    Dude, I fucking hate gatekeepers.

It's why I'm so involved in my CNC group. I'm literally teaching people stuff everyday because of the toxicity in the hobby.

    @Strictlytoyz

I don't know if you know this but, since we're building a new-to-us 1/24 build, companies assume we know what we're doing (to a certain extent).

This includes having additional hardware needed to complete a new build from scratch.

I asked Tyler and he did confirm with me that I'd need hardware so he suggested this -

The thought sat in the back of my mind for a good few days.

It wasn't until after I ordered the links that I'm like....wait a minute.

I recall watching Mazz's youtube video on assembly only to remember at the beginning that he said "you'll need the parts kit for your build."

Yet it doesn't state it in the ordering page as far as what else should be purchased for completion.

    Chassis is expected 1/14 :fingerscrossed:

Injora stainless high clearance links, wheels and tires installed! May eventually order some taller tires, 58mm seems a little small. Also relocated the receiver/esc to the front of the chassis. Ended up using the foams that came in the tires instead of the silicone inserts because the silicone didn’t squish very much. I’m sure in 1/10 they’re great but they seem a little dense for such a small crawler.

My RC_Addiction links are on island but apperantly won't be delivered until the 14th for some reason. Which is fine because my chassis should be here the 14th as well :fistbump:

The early v1 super 8’s were terrible. I broke 3 shafts in a very short period of time and they were out of stock on replacements. Then the v2 shafts came out and I intentionally tried to break them by getting the front wheels in bind situations and couldn’t get them to snap. I have been very happy with them since. I believe the supplier changed again and they have had some instances of breakage but not like they had with the v1 shafts.

Try them tires with no foams at all. A slight squish when sitting like the real thing being aired down makes a huge difference in grip.
