That would be the only reason I would go stainless. Less sliding resistance. Been wanting to get one of those mini 4 corner scale systems so I can really get into weight distribution and what not on this thing. When I get home from work I'll shoot you over the weights though

    Nice thanks!

Yeah I've seen capecrawler or whatever his name is use it often.

I really dig the indoor course he's got setup too.

Ah, yeah I've seen his channel. Was really going through his stuff when I was deciding on a first rc. Pretty sure he also has a review of the cheat code chassis

He does, although I don't think his video pushed me to buy it.

He did say good things about the Prosteer axles though and he actually installed them on a GX470 of all things. That's why I got mine.

Now just have to do the front...but it'll get tricky with the plastic parts and servo.

New set is really beefed up compared to stock

    20250110_173711.jpg

Front done, although I'm sure I have the screw done oddly for the steering horn which I'll address when I replace the servo

Squishy. These may require the silicone, which is equally squishy.

Yeah you went Gladiator links right?

I remember I was specifically going to buy links for the Gladiator wheelbase only to be recommended otherwise

A longer wheelbase will have improved climbing. A shorter wheelbase has better turning and less sidehill washout. Keeping the skid upfront helps with break over when apexing a climb but has sacrificed some weight bias that helps elsewhere. It is all give and take.

@Deathbysnusnu I was seriously impressed with the Injora silicone inserts that I got with their tires. I don't love that even vented they could cover the vent. I may pull them back apart and try to put together baby powder or corn starch in them to keep from sticking to the tire though.

These are the softest tire ever. I too was disappoint that any vent holes would be covered, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I mounted one with no insert and it's too floppy to stand under it's own weight.
Monkeying around with the second, I used a thin film of grease to get the tire to rotate on the rim. They are sticky. It looks better filled out with the silicone. The squish is about perfect.
Baby powder is a good idea, I'll try that on the next one.

So.....for people like @Strictlytoyz and I wanting to make these comp builds, foam or silicone for 1/24 scale?

My first go with silicone, haven't even ran them yet. But so far very much impressed with the look and feel. Tires are so sticky I can already hear the plastic ring and pinion singing the song of a ratchet.
Different tire compounds are going to be the deciding factor on the silicone compound or foam density if they are used. I know that once foams get wet they are pretty much done. You guys are in for a boatload of experimentation and a rack full of tires. :p

@Kwikvette I've been super pleased with injoras yellow silicone inserts. I have a few extra sets in different sizes I'm going to be trying out. There's huge rave about the flubrc inserts as well.

Seems like you're not gonna need those wheels then.

I have always run crawler innovations dual stage foams for my comp and trail crawlers. In heavier/faster rigs I use their single stage foams. I have their 24th scale foams cut in half in my deadbolt. The silicone yellow Injora came with the Injora tires. I don't have enough experience with the 24th scale stuff yet to say. I've been running stock foams for the longest time with most of the tires I have tried in this scale.

I should probably reach out to CI as the calculator does not have 1.0 information. They have always been easy to communicate with. One reason I have a corner weight scale is to tell them what a rig weighs so they can recommend foams.

I'll put both of mine on them tomorrow and see. I typically fine tune drift cars with it as crawlers end up with stuff where it fits most the time.
