Looks great. I threw my ESC up front over the servo and left the battery in the stock spot, didn't seem to do much but it definitely didn't hurt. I got a set of 58mm tires on the same wheels but in white, so far they work great, I may get some taller tires in the future but for now they're working great. Next nice enough day i'll take it out and really give it a run, but around the living room the wheels and tires made the biggest difference. I plan on ordering the driveshafts as needed, worst case I have to break out the 1/10 while I wait for parts.

Canceled another order lol. After further research, my lgrp super 8's already come with 33% overdrive in the front so I canceled my 2/12t worm gear order

Man, you've got a hell of a build that's for sure.

What's funny about those Treal wheels is, I actually ordered a set at the same time as my Meus and Injora axles. Thing is, it was taking forever to even get shipped so I had cancelled the order.

I think before I start messing with wheels, I want to see if the Injora's with wheel weights will do the job.

Just want my links to ship out so I can get going on my build! :angrygirl:

    Sick!

The axles don't come with servo and link mounts though? I didn't read up on the Super 8's much.

To complete the super 8's I had to purchase wheel hexes/hex pins, a servo mount, and a rear link riser.

@Kwikvette @Strictlytoyz , what did you guys go with for your frame material? Carbon fiber, titanium or aluminum? Brand? Currently looking at the Mazz CCV3 in CF, the shorty, since it's in stock.
I think I'm sold on the Meus axles. Prolly go with the Furitek Mini Komodo or something along those lines, since Furitek is most likely gonna be the ESC anyway.

Ahhh your build list makes much more sense now!

I was wondering what all the extra parts were.

I would've gone titanium (out of stock) so I went with a carbon fiber chassis by Mazz Designs in their XL flavor.

    20250111_100123.jpg

I too went with the Mini Komodo as I've read about others having clearance issues with their upper links hitting their motor (when installed front facing).

I didn't want to give up any of the chassis' strengths by being forced to use the optional 10 degree skid, so I went with the Mini so I can use the included 15 degree skid.

Apparently that's something to look out for if using Mazz's links. But if you build your own (or get a custom set made) it won't be an issue.

CF shouldn't be a problem. All my heli's are CF frames and they've lawn darted numerous times with little to no damage to the frame itself.
LGRP comp frame is the other I was looking at. Will prolly go with the Mazz though, seems more thought out. And it's cheaper.
I have no 1/24 Axial's, so nothing to compare any of this to. Still trying to figure out the link sets that will work with the short frame.
    Thank for the info!

    Look up 828RC on Facebook.

Tell him "Freddy from CA and Charles from HI told me to talk to you about links!"

He'll take care of ya with a custom set, but also provide helpful info on the why's and how's.

Stumbled upon a nice deal and stepped out of my "vintage Tamiya comfort zone". Should be a fun build. I was inspired by Mechanic After Hours RC on youtube. The guy's Kyosho builds are absolutely insane. Actually, all of his builds are insane. I recommend a watch for sure.

Same boat as @Kwikvette, I went with carbon fiber since that's what was in stock. Will be running a mini komodo with a lizard pro esc.

Since you bought a whole kit, you got the bluetooth module too right?

I built the Optima Mid couple years ago, the Kyosho kits are top notch, some of the best I've ever done.

FCX24 did not so hot on my backyard crawler course yesterday, know it's a trail rig but it was very meh even if I was extremely happy to have it running lol

Going to hodgepodge together some wheels/tires to add weight at each corner and install the Injora suspension I've had for it since May

I went into my local hobby store to cancel the Reefs 800lp servo for the brass 800lp. Now these guys have hardly any crawler stuff and deal primarily with the short course crowd that hits their indoor track. Based on what they have for crawlers, it looks they're trying to meet some kind of marketing requirements from Proline and JConcepts. Anyhow, when the kid sees the price point he takes a second look and then the other guy looks over his should and kind of giggles a little. Somehow I just don't think I made a sane choice! :anonymous:

Yes, got the module too. I have the python pro too on my ascent with the bluetooth module built in so that's an option if needed

I may be forced to buy one for further tuning.

The TX I bought is for a single vehicle (intentional) and has quite a bit of on-the-fly adjustment but I guess we'll see how much more is needed on the ESC end.

I can say that fortunately the Lizard Pro is programmed to work with a brushless motor right out of the box.
