And does the "body molding" count as a bumper? I think it does for 1/10 so I don't see why it can't count for 1/24?

Just tallied up the bill. At a "budget" price point, it seems a bit high. However the big ticket items are the frame and motor/esc. Those are about the only two areas a guy could cheap out further, and just be left with an expensive blinged out under-performing stock model. The rest of the build hardware is mainly what would be bought anyway with a RTR model for upgrades.

Make that budget rig look expensive and wrap your wires with some tech flex -

Stuff I've got is meant for larger wire so I ordered this roll in 1/8".

Meus/Injora sell O shaped driveshafts to fit the D shaped input/output. What's up with that? I know we just had this conversation, what did you guys find for the proper driveshaft?
    Edit, found them.

Tech flex is the absolute tiddies! Rewired my entire truck (not the RC) from the cab back. Used tech flex split loom on everything. so easy, so durable, and it looks great.

    Yeah it is!

I've used it for years for building computers, so I like to keep rolls of it for any and all wiring jobs even just wire routing -

    20250113_181205.jpg

There's stuff that's meant for higher temps IE engine bays I used in the LC.

Definitely need smaller stuff for the RC so I hope 1/8" is good enough.

More goodies today. Tires, servo mount, link riser, and diff skids. 3flow9RC threw in a cool little scale cooler with the skids too!

Man, you got all the nice goodies.

I would've purchased their steering link but they couldn't tell me what size bolt my Reefs RC is.

Didn't want to open anything up yet so I'll measure it when I put things together.

    You're ready now aren't you?

Waiting on my steering servo, motor, trans, esc, wheels, driveshaft, and hardware kit :playball:. I can throw in my ascent servo while I wait for my nsdrc since that won't be shipping out till the end of the month. I should have everything minus my servo by Saturday

Ahh I thought you showed a pic of them my bad, thought they arrived.

That's right though you just bought that complete Furitek kit.

Naw just wait until everything arrives. My shocks should get here tomorrow so I'll still just be one part away from completion (links).

Some of this won't be here until late this month, some will be here this week. I guess late this month is next week...:rofl:The Meus axles are the holdup. But they seem to come highly recommended by just about every YouTube authority out there.
Store credit and points kept the cost down quite a bit.
I added the 10 degree skid, just in case. Options are fun.
I haven't seen the edges of the CF frames yet, they might need to be sealed. If nothing else to help cut down on rock rash should they drag. Those are pricey. I'd be nervous of scratching titanium as well.
As far as screws and stuff, most of the things seem to come with their own, albeit prolly not the best quality. Cross that bridge later.
Video's of the Mini Komodo and the Furitek trans have me drooling over the slow speed crawl control.
Haven't decided on wheels and tires yet, will prolly throw the bug buggy tires on it and make decisions off that. Those are 68mm, I can't imagine going as small as 64mm to qualify for comp.

64 is small?! :bananadead: these 63's look huge compared to my 56's on the Ascent lol. Although I was trying to keep that one pretty scale. A 56mm tire in 1/18 scale converts to 39.6" is real life

I also have 60's. Those are smaller :notsure::rofl:
Not sure which way this build will go, or what body to use now that I went with a shorter wheelbase. Maybe another bug body. When they roll, they almost always end up back on the wheels.

I remember lining the edges of CF with CA and sanding them smooth.

Did this for A arms and other CF parts for my track cars but I highly doubt that's needed for crawlers?

As for tires, dude 64mm are huge!

I ran 62mm on an 1/18 scale and even those seemed really meaty.
