"Probable speeding"? What state is that? It's not gonna fly in Oregon.

Commercial drivers in Oregon are prohibited from having a radar detector, nobody else is. It's a free-for-all here in Oregon, but now "photo-radar" is getting really popular.

I have one. It just won`t help you.
I would have a lot of fun with the DA with a "probable" speeding cite.
You hear a new one every day.

best way to avoid a ticket is to not speed...period

on top of that...slowing down saves some gas...nice little side benefit there

i used to drive like a maniac...i pushed my old volvo to 115...ive been in a honda accord at 140...my truck i think i mightve gotten to 95...the crown vic i got to 120 then backed off...

I've been pulled over probably 20-25 times...ive had 4 tickets...2 by SCHP...1 Local city cop...one TSP...the local city cop wrote on the ticket itself that a detector was present...judge gave me no help...the 2 with SCHP were without...got both tickets reduced without even having to see the judge...

TSP is a whole nother story that im not getting into...he was wrong...saw out of state plates...figured he'd get an easy ticket...i didnt have time to fight it...he won...

i guess my thing is just...why spend $400 on something that doesnt get you anywhere any faster...when you could save that $400 plus another $400 on gas from slowing down...and then buy something else that you can enjoy safely

Jammers are prohibited bt the FCC for obvious reasons.
You can have my radar detecter. It won`t dectect the new stuff.
I took it out of the Taco to install red and blues.
Once again, I am not a traffic cop.
And have no intenten in developing an interest. I do cite for unsafe lane changes when they come down in front of me. Just the really risky stuff.
I make mistakes too. When I do, I beat myself up more than a cite.
As I don`t know where my cite book is, I would have to call it in.

I've had my Valentine V1 for 4 years now and it still works like it's brand new. I've tried many radar detectors and the Valentine V1 is the best I've tried. It will tell you if a cop is over the next hill, around the curve ahead, etc. No radar detector will help you with the laser but the laser is much more expensive for the local police department so around here they still use K and Ka. The Valentine V1 works amazingly good with the K and Ka bands! ;)

If you do see the blue lights coming up behind you, the first thing you do is yanks the detector down and throw it in the glove box. :D

Oh --Did I say Valentine 1? Had one for 6 yrs now and never got a ticket.

If the po po is being patient and using "instant on" for K or KA radar you may get busted that's just a fact.If the laser warning goes off and you are obviously the only vehicle being clocked--you probably just got a ticket if you were speeding fast enough.

However, this detector will pick up officers shooting K and KA well in advance of your sight of them most of the time.

I had this wired into my 1000RR too.:D:D

RADAR jammers are illegal per the FCC.

LASER(Lidar) Jammers are not. The reason is that radar jammers actually transmit a signal where as Laser Jammers just disperse the beam....one is active, the other passive. Had an 8500 and now use the 9500i.

I got into the radar detector technology about 20 years ago. It was fun while it lasted but who needs the aggravation. Now that I am older I have to agree a little under +10 and its a cake walk. Besides driving in a state of radar fear is not worth the time saved. 1 ticket and you lose at least 30 minutes and maybe $75 + in fines plus insurance fees, not worth the hassle. If you are a professional dirver then the % of being pulled over goes way up, maybe a good laser jammer and multiband detector may be worth it for them. Otherwise I just take my low % chances and choose to not live in a state of anxiety all the time when I drive. :D

Take it from a Deputy Sheriff guys and girls. Radar detector's only work if the Deputy is lazy and keeps the radar turned on. All I have to do is flip the radar on when you get into range and I got ya. Don't go over 10mph in a 55mph zone. If speed limit is under 55 don't go over 5mph.

SPEED KILLS TAKE IT FROM ME WHO HAS SEEN A LOT OF DRT ACCIDENTS.

I am 53 and have been driving since I was 16 and have yet to get a single speeding ticket. I always drive at a speed that I am comfortable with given the conditions of the weather and traffic around me. It works. And I actually believe driving slow kills as much as driving too fast.

My dad has had one for years, and he swears by it. I'd buy one myself, but whenever I have that kind of money lying around I always find something else to spend it on...
