    Guy has the money. What is the reason he just isn't paying now? He could have avoided all of this. Even if he didn't have the cash he can use a CC with paypal, venmo etc..

    Last sentence. A "friend" owed me and my wife money for a car he bought. After a while no money and lots of excuses, but had plenty of nights at the bars. Finally told him that yes he's unemployed (8 months after the loan he got laid off) but he never took it seriously in the first place and it doesn't seem to cramp his social life.
