That technique is out of a book printed in 92... it's an outdated idea now...too many single moms to make it feasible

I’m happy with my current ride actually. Which is surprising. Needs some minor maintenance but no complaints! All the horsepower! (Without going with fancy go fast modifications)

Unless it’s a cruiser for around town. Maybe an old Toyota truck or old F100. Yes please.

I looked up a bit about small claims court in NC. I’m addition to paying the nearly $100 fee, it appears I would have to go to NC. I’m all the way in Texas.

If someone has more knowledge on this, I’m all ears, but it seems like a lot of time & trouble to try and recoup my $800 back.

I'm sorry OP. I would go out of my way just to prove a point. If he's reading this (and I'm sure he is) he is probably happy that his plan worked. You're out $800 that are now in his bank account. Make a vacation out of it. Sue for $800 + travel fees + whatever else you can think of.

Also, because of COVID-19, I would not be surprised if the court system had some Zoom options available!

The crap part, many states require filing to occur in the court of claims where the issue occurred or where the individual that allegedly committed the issue resides. Personal example…loaned money to a friend that lived out of state. The money was transferred to his state. I had to file the claim in his state. Hopefully that’s not the case if he goes that route.

That’s pretty common. Same thing happened to me. Had to drive out of state where they lived even though the incident occurred in my state. Really sucks.
