I'm kinda looking to up the ante on this trucks power and am looking to get the TRD Supercharger, though I am not looking to take out a small loan on it like the parts department that charges over $4200 for it (or however much it is).

Anyone know where I can get a complete kit one for cheaper? I already looked on ebay, and there is a guy that offers rebuilt units but you need to send in your old core to have him rebuild it.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
At the end of the day, having the Dealer do it and guarantee it is the best way.

The install is not a problem. I can do that, I used to work on cars, I guess what I am really trying to do is find one for a better price then $4500. $3800 is a little better but not a huge improvement.

I don't know if that's even cheap for the HP you are gaining. I would of course toss on a URD 2.6-2.8 Pulley on it at the end of the day anyway to squeeze some extra powa out of it.

I can't imagine spending 3-4K or more on the motor on a new Tacoma.

I can understand guys who spend thousands rigging their truck for offroading or camping.

but, how much more power/speed does one really need in a Tacoma pickup? it's not a Corvette or Mustang/Camaro.

maybe it's for the braggin' rights? Or some just love wrenching on their vehicles?

of course, one could say the same about upgrading to a TRD Sport over a base Tacoma I suppose...to each their own I guess

    Good luck.

I've never owned an FI vehicle and to have one I can call my own would be a major milestone, for me at least.

I just hopped out of a GTO so I come from a world with huge power and a lot of fun at the push of my foot. It would be nice to know I got the power if I ever need it with this one. It still lets me retain my "have my cake and eat it too" mindset. I do love wrenching on my vehicles but I'm trying to not do that with this one, as much as I did with the GTO.

$3500?? Link to said price? lol.

I got a 12 Tacoma, and just had the dealer put my SC on. Got the whole kit and install for 4300.00. Its not sports car fast, but for running the washes and offroad. Quite a Difference, and by the way......I agree, you got a pay to play

That's hell of cheap for getting it all installed! How did you get it so cheap? How much was the labor for it?

The rheeming must be offered as a free courtesy service for spending so much money at the dealer in the great state of Kansas.

Best I've found was $3799, found a dealer here around Orlando that said they would install for $ 8-900. Just under 5 grand is what I'm saving for, and ARB's, and....

Best advice for you is to try and find the part for yourself. I used to work for a dealership and there's not much they'll do for people to discount parts. Labor though is a completely different story, and can be bargained all day.

That price is right in line there with the rest of the prices. The thing is they know it's FI for the vehicle and FI is always an expensive piece, regardless of which vehicle its for because it will always be in demand and it's an easy power mod.

Yeah and that's that I work at one, the parts guys hate their life so I don't even bother saying hi or talk to them. Grumpy old men.. oh well.
