Bought the truck used and it has 2 holes drilled through the bedliner and bed about an 1” in diameter? Bed storage? Tonneau cover? Anyone have any ideas?

Drain holes for a tonneau cover.

Some retractable tonneaus come with drain channels in the rails and then drain tubes carry the excess water away (like gutters and a downspout). You have to drill out the factory drain holes to a larger diameter to allow the tube to pass through.

Ah ok - was wondering if it was for some aftermarket part the seller took off the truck before selling

That's not OEM, that's for sure. The previous owner probably just put extra drain holes, as others have said.

I think the truck originally came with an OEM tonneau. There is a connection point for it there that is screwed in, and I think that connection point was removed. I used to have an 18 that came with the tonneau, and i replaced the tonneau with a stoftopper for camping. I removed that connection point because it was interfering with me when i sat in the truck at night to read.

I think the OP was referring to the holes drilled in the bed, not the 2 mounting holes in the back rail.

That’s not a bedliner. That is the bed.

Be careful if you mess around with the left one. The tank filler neck is right under it. Some folks and tonneau installers have nicked it and did about $1k in damage.

I have similar holes drilled for my BakFlip MX4 cover, the directions say drill in that location but I drilled mine up on the ledge in the corner to keep the drain tubes out of the way of stuff I load into the box. Nothing to worry about. Also if you choose to get a cover that requires them, you have them already.

    This^.

might want to take a peek just Incase it is knicked and hasn’t thrown a code yet. If it happens down the road, you’ll be on the line for the repair.
