You can go to any auto parts store and pick up a new set of 2 or 3 pin connectors

If it was me, I would solder in male and female flat 4 trailer plugs. You can get them anywhere and you can only plug it in 1 way. Cheap as hell, too.

They are called Molex connectors. "google" it and you'll find many vendors and references...

Good question I gotta do the same thing. Are you gonna run it into your rear break light yourself?

Yeah I think so. I'm thinking my plan as of now is to run the wires from my brake light myself and to the cap light straight from the battery so it can be used while the truck is off. It's an LED so I don't think it'll be an issue. I may just change out the plug on it to something more common of I can't find the male end

Run a weatherpac 3 pin plug.

You can run the ground for your break light and LED dome light to one pin.
Power to for the LED dome light to the second pin and the break light to the third pin.

FYI, there is a constant hot wire behind your taillight. This will save you the trouble of running wires all the way to your engine bay:

Ended up slicing a 4ft 4 pin trailer extension in two and doing this today. Really pleased with how it turned out for the most part

Here's my setup with the weatherpac 3 pin.

I still need to shorten the wires from the plug up to the topper and clean up the electrical tape.

Looks like you got a good start. Even though it's not done out looks cleaner than most dealership installs.
