Viper need a extra remote but you also can pay extra with satellite option so you can use your smart phone remote start lock and unlock. Nothing change you still grab the handle to lock and unlock

did anyone ever figure out if its the 6 or 6.2 that can be used on the 3rd gen and use the OEM key fob. I am ready to pull the trigger on this now just need to know.

Sounds like if you go through dealer you can use OEM fob.

Damn I was hoping to avoid that considering the module is only like $60. I wonder what the dealership would charge me to install if I came in with the module already purchased.

This is the one I'm looking at as well. If I have to carry an extra fob I want the smallest one I can get

Yeah the fob is basically just a button. I took other things off my key ring that I didn't use to make room and I think it might actually lighter now with the additional fob than before haha.

Just got a call from the dealership my truck in the right state should be at the dealership by tomorrow I asked about the remote start how long it will take and I got the silent treatment. He forgot about it. Might have to get it installed later. Bummer but have been waiting a long time for the truck

Does the door lock still work by touching the handle when you remote start ?

@FlyFisher1 Yes, the door still unlocks when you touch the handle. Everything works as it normally would with the setup I have, the only downside is that the engine shuts off when you open the door. It's not ideal, but I am getting used to it.

How do you like it? Can you disable - or just not turn on - the alarm?

Anyone know if there's any way to override the truck turning off when you open the handle? Or any brand that doesn't do this.
