The exhaust is into the cabin, right? or routed to the heater/AC (when not in recycle mode)?

If mice want in they will get in. Mice can chew thru the plastic used for the heater core and A/C Evaporator housing. Mice are looking for food, water or to make a bed. Just don't store food (they are fond of dog food) in your truck. Controlling the surroundings of where you park also helps. And the cabin vents are on the back wall below the top of the bed.

HI, thanks. the cabin air must exhaust to the outside behind the cab. but i dont see it. it cant exhaust through the intake because incoming air enters there. anyone know exactly where the air leaves the cab??

Do you mean the vents behind the rear seats? They're already louvered

There are vents on the back of the cab in between the cab and the bed. They have little flaps on them. I doubt rodents are getting through one. They'd have to chew up a decent amount of plastic first.

Mice in cab have not been an issue. The furthest I have ever heard of one getting is at the cabin filter, which if you've screened the cowl, you're good. The engine bay however, that's a different story.

Also, they don't instantly jump into the vents. They have to climb to get there, which means you have a few choke points of egress - the tires. Stop them from climbing the tires and you've stopped them from chewing wires.

the mice just took up residence inside cab....i have e gine air intake under air filter screened off, ditto heater air intake as of yesterday. by process of elimination im down to the air exhausts...what do they look like, & can they be seen from inside cab, behind or under jumpseats where the jack is located ??
i lie in the redwoods forest, there are zillions of mice everywhere...since i park outside they like to escape the elements and poop inside engine area near front left [pass side]... tks for reply, jerbo

The vents should be on the back wall behind the seats, they vent into the space between cab and bed. You usually have to pull a panel to see them.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Don`t forget around the shifter they love chewing through rubber

Where the engine harness enters the cab is another spot the love to chew through .

Any of the plastic plugs in the floor.

I have had them enter all the above spots.
