Anyone know why my posts are followed by these numbers?

It is not a MAC address. MAC addresses are also hexidecimal but are far shorter they are xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx. Each two digits represent a Byte or 8 bits in binary.

By the way, for the record, in case you're all still curious:

The number itself is actually a GUID / UUID http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Globally_unique_identifier

Anything can generate UUIDs / GUIDs, and the idea is that it is long enough that there's a really really low chance of ever generating the same number again. So they're used as IDs for just about anything in a database or whatever, to identify account numbers, usernames, posts in a forum, etc.

Dunno why your browser is spitting a UUID + a date into your forum posts, but there you have it, that's what it is.

YUP that got rid of it. I also think it has something to do with the Active-X. I was on a bootleg movie site (i.e. watchmovies.net, etc) and it said I needed to install an active x player or something of the sort. I don't think it ended up working though, but will find it and delete it.

I did a little google search on it and it's apart of the Rage Page I had on my FB. thanks guys, moderators can close/delete this now doubt anyone else is having this problem.

 

you'd be surprised how many ppl have this problem lol. Do a google search for "1.03.01". lots of people doing it, and the culprit narrowed down to Yontoo w/ firefox.I think ragepage is an add-on for yontoo.

 

yup, I was curious about the whole Yontoo extension, I don't really remember it but know I must have downloaded it while installing the Rage Page. I kind of wonder why this is happening but glad I got it to stop.

 

Apparently Yontoo communicates with other users who have yontoo for visual effects, I think maybe that has something to do with how it communicates?
