Anyone looking for an Access Cab?

In case anyone is interested, Longo Toyota in So Cal has plenty of Access cab 4X2 Sports on their lot right now … and a couple of 4X4 SR5’s too. I’ve never seen so many AC’s in one spot! Slim pickings when it comes to the Double Cabs (I only saw one)

 

All of the Toyota dealers around this area do not even have that many vehicles on there lot and there all used.

 

It doesn’t look like it.

 

Aren’t MTs only on the sport and up trims?

 

I still remember having 4 doors on a truck was not popular. Extra cab became a big thing. When we had only only two doors. And a six 6 foot bed.

Today 4-doors is more practical and a short bed. Due to the over all length.

Access cab is not so popular today. Benefit is the 6 foot bed. Limited to many aftermarket parts too.

I like my 4 door long bed for cargo space, I do lots of overnight fishing and camping. Yes the short bed is more maneuverable and easier to park. I do carry passengers. Loading three people in a extra-cab a bit tight.
4doors and a short bed ( loses cargo space , gain interior locking space.

 

Toyota has been advertising access cabs here on the cable tv channels like no tomorrow, so dealers must be scheduled to get plenty of them.

 

Meh, turd gen is old news. Good to see supply catching up though. This auto bubble needs to officially burst.

 

Since the 2016 Tacoma went on sale. Ford introduced the the last generation Ranger. Jeep introduced the all new Gladiator. Nissan redesign the Frontier, GM intoduced the next generation Colorado, the previous Colorado debued in 2015.

What has Toyota done, added a few new colors, discontinued the 5spd on the 4cyl, and added LED headlights as an option on TRD models. Oh and deleted the external oil cooler from Tacoma's tow pkg.

 

I notice other manufacturers are offering more features, then Toyota Tacomas. Toyota has been cutting back and not trying to be more innovative.

I like to see more storage. I like to see more clever compartments.

Hammer Toyota in Mission Hills, Ca has 5 SR5 access cabs 4x4’s. When I was shopping for a AC this time last year they said they never get AC 4x4’s and couldn’t even allocate one, same at other dealers now they along with another local dealer have some sitting on the lot. Hammer actually has 51 Taco’s in stock 21 are 4x4’s, Frontier Toyota has about 30.
I was toying with the idea of trading my 2.7 SR for a v6 truck but they are still playing their “market adjustment “ bullshit game

 

Was an option in for the sr 2016 and 2017. 5mt though
