I would be lying if I said I didnt miss mine. I bought it with a 70k and sold it at 150k It was a 4 cylinder. It was a 1998 trd and had kings, 5.29's locked, custom bumpers, supercharger, headers, and I used it hard. All I ever did was routine oil changes, 2 altenators, a belt, u-joints, and a battery.

I have had my 08 for a year and I like it but I have had to get window seals, rear tsb, and a new 4x4 switch done all under warranty. It only has 28k though.

I can say I like the power of the 4.0 thought. The 08 is more comfortable. I just have a hard time thinking it will last like my 1998. I think it will be a good durable truck though.

I wheeled mine hard.. Sections of tellico and numerous parks. I could wax it and wash it and it looked new. Man I had a kid offer me way more than I could turn down. I wasn't even planning on selling it.

I sold my 1998 in 2008 with 150k for 13,500. I didnt even want to sell it. The kid came with his dad knocked on my front door and offered cash. But I couldn't turn it down. I payed 10,500 for the truck with 70k 3 years before.

Last year, I saw an online ad for a one owner 1998 Mystic Purple access cab - v6, manual, 4x4 with less than 60k miles on it. It was being sold by a Mazda dealer in Denver for $10k. It was gone in a flash. Man that would have been a sweet ride. Totally babied, beautiful shape.

A little of this and a little of that.
I definately enjoyed my '98 Tacoma. It was an access cab, V6, 4WD, auto. It did everything I asked of it for 13 years. I bought it new and had 95,000 miles on it when I sold it.
