Less likely to get stolen. Was thinking an ammo box style with gasket along with o2 absorbers. Only concern is heat but other plastics like fusebox don't degrade because of heat.

There is space for multiple small boxes. Definitely over pax side wheelwell. More if you delete the evap thing. Only Q is how to mount it?

Make brackets and mount to your inner fender .

Something that small could go behind your seat just as easy.

In Xtracab, you can see in the back area if you shine a flashlight through the rear and rear cab windows.

I have a hard enough time finding my 10mm wrench!

I know when I travel I sometimes stow cameras or spare kilos out of site if I’m parked at a dive location, but stashing enough tools might be interesting.

What tools you need constantly that need to be under the hood? Better to just get roll up tool pouch and store them under the seats. Condensation or water will get in the box no matter how many O2 absorbers you put in unless you live in a constant dry area of the country.

I got no room in my engine. So tight, barely have room to wrench

If a thief can see identify blankets, they can conclude something expensive is hidden underneath.

Anything that could fit in the engine compartment would probably fit just as well under a seat or in the cubbies under the jump seats. My truck already makes too many weird noises without tools banging around in the engine compartment. I'd be more worried about the truck being stolen than anything inside it.

We all have a 10mm socket somewheres in the engine bay 'toolbox'....
