Anyone now why some UCA's use 1.25" uniballs?

The upper uniball is the limiting factor for droop travel. The 1.25" uniball with smaller mis alginment spacers allows a couple more degrees before bind. That's why they used them, not for strength.

OK, so If I understand this correctly, even though the uniball is rated for less angular mis-alignment, you can get more mis-alignment out of the 1.25" when installed because of the spacer differences?

That about sums it up. On the 1.25” uniball, they were able to recess the bolt head into the uniball, allowing for more misalignment than normal high misalignment spacers. If you’re looking at specifications for the bearings independently of the high misalignment spacers and true bolt size, then you’re not getting an accurate angular range. 3B5CADE7-6EFE-4478-BA8D-7643714FF3E9.jpg
