Another day ends and another shift begins. Spudded in earlier in the week. But got orders to skid over and do an acid job on another well that's petering out before we put nipple up The diverter to drill out the 30".

My first chopper flight was Rotocraft back in 2000. They were using someone else's pad at a closed down dock in Cameron. Good stuff. 1st flight couldn't get airborne. So they sat back down and pitched a few bags then took off. Two hitches later we actually pulled a RC chopper out of the water with our crane that had gotten ditched. Fast forward to about 2006 and we had a RC contract again. This time it was ACed and had little TVs. They came a long way in little time. The heliport in Galliano wasn't too bad to get to. 308 all the way. I never flew Bristow.

ah makes since. I feel a little spoiled here in Colorado. My current rig location is less than 5 minutes from my house.

Although today we did have to deal with an eco-nut trying to get on location to protest or something stupid

You should work on the frac side... so many misconceptions by those eco nuts, and what actually happens.

oh believe me, colorado is full of them. Anytime I tell someone i work in Oil they say,"Oh so you frac mother earth and pollute all our water" Then when you try and educate them they start making stupid claims like ohh that just what the oil companies want you to think.

most people dont really know what fracking looks like so they just assume a giant drilling rig is doing the fracking.

Yup! That's what everyone thinks, not 12 gigantic engines mounted on trailers pushing fluid down hole. But it's all the same.

Over the years I've worked with a few people that have worked in Venezuela. Barge rigs, land rigs, marsh rigs, jack ups, and semis. None of them spoke highly of the nationally ran company.

I currently work with a few guys that were on a Spartan project offshore near there. They showed me a few pics of the summer and winter and it's quite the surreal scene in the background of the slope and the ice on the rig. They made one winter and left...er, made their bonus and left.
