I'd believe it. Interior Mexico is nice, really nice. The border and parts of the coast... Stuff of nightmares.

Dead horses in the street, crackheads begging, Federalis chasing cartel, M16 manned checkpoints...typical 3rd world stuff. But if you get away from the coast it's much nicer.

Going out for a pipeline repair tomorrow morning in Long Beach, CA then should be starting a 6 week job in the same area working on some non oil-field outfall's. Good to be doing some offshore work close to home for a change!

They've got the platform set in place, spotted rig, and completed the well that was drilled in open water. Now they're using a stimulation/process boat to bring the well online and it's tied up and flaring off.

At least some places are still spending money. Today we're getting a stimulation boat and a construction boat. We TDed this last section and pull to the shoe. Over comes the stim boat and we run iron to another well under us for a acid job in the morning. Along comes the crane boat and measure up to build a two hole template go on our port side.

The oilfield in tanking and Mexico has slashed rates. But are spending the rest of their yearly budget in a few months it seems like. Lots of activity around me.

Crappy pano pic. But they've brought in a second jack up on the neighboring platform off the starboard and off the port they're planning the same on the other new platform. We're over an older one that has become the hub of this field and they're putting a pig station on it.

What do you guys think about the ban being lifted? Think it'll bring back work or won't matter much?

Just as in drilling picking up. I worked for Schlumberger as a mwd field engineer and got laid off in the spring.

Yes. You guys think it'll help picking up drilling or won't really make a difference?
