Anyone order from Alibaba?

3mm = 1/8" i know 1/4" = 10lbs per squarefoot so 5 lbs and im gessing there is 5 square feet with all the twists? 25 lbs plus they added weight of shipping supplies/ packaging (they always show shipping weight more)

so they add 10lbs as a safety factor?

This is probably as good a place as any to distribute this information. If a Chinese company is jerking you around send them an email with "1989 Tiananmen Square massacre" in the email and it should get their servers shutdown for a period of time.

 

So I got a reply regarding shipping and fees. For 30 plates, to San Pedro Port in CA, shipping and fees are $580. I'm waiting on response for smaller quantity order and tech specs.

Finally got some info to share.

So that price of $10/each for 30 plates was false, of course. Asked for specs and actual pricing. It's a 3mm thick, steel plate for $105/each, plus shipping/fees. Now it's a wait for the 5mm pricing.

At this point, I don't even want to deal with this vendor anymore. Not worth my time.

 

Too many copy Kats. They Don't care about patents or copyrighted material. I like competition but don't use my name on your shoddy weakass ripoffs.

 

understandable. i think the price i got was close to 250 shipped from the vendors.

 

Both 3mm and 5mm alum are shit for skids. Even the TRD skid plate will get destroyed with real wheeling. That thing is just for show.

I’d get a US steel plate 1/4” skid, which you can often get shipped for less than $300 (bare metal, no powder coat)

Just curious about this order, is that shipped to your door?
I’ve looked into Alibaba and found most manufacturers ships to ports, and from there you have it pay port fees and such to actually get your stuff, or go through a port middle man to have it shipped to you once it lands.
I stopped after learning that.

When I swapped my 08 steering wheel for a 2013 I got the airbag and cover from this place and was oem part and has been good for yrs now. It was half to quarter of price for same part elsewhere. But as has been stated, buyer be very certain of what you're buying and back it up with some kind of transaction cancelling mechanism that will return money if no product, broken stuff or misrepresentation occurs.
