the problem is that it's just a very risky trip for me in pretty much every way...as of right now i can't tell if i'll be able to make it there or not, but it would be a wise decision for me not to go this year

Hey TuRD, are you still in possession of your Taco? If you are, you have some options:
    1. Quit sinking money into that $hitheap jeep and start paying for Snowflake again, or...............

    2. If you're gonna let "the man" take your truck, Take it to the meet for one last hoorah. Since they're gonna take it, you don't have to be shy about testing it's capabilities.:D

the jeep is free until i can afford to pay for it, and i do still have Snowflake but unless u have an extra $700 a month laying around, i won't have it after the 23rd

i wanna take it on the trails tho, and if i had extra money i'd go for sure because jeeps aren't too expensive to fix ball joints and other dumb stuff i'd break, the problem is that i'd need a good $500 for gas there and back, plus food money, plus extra in case it breaks and it looks like i'd need to have about a grand and there isnt any way for me to save up that much right now

I hear ya bro. I havn't committed to the meet yet, cause it costs money, long drive, time off work, little kids, a wife. It's an asspile of obstacles.
I am an optimist, so I'll just have to see what happens between now and then.

Besides the repo and the meet, are you starting to put the pieces of your life back together?

BTW, TuRD, you should post up a couple more pics of your secondary vehicle (jeep). It looks good from the front.

i'm trying to, but not much has happened yet... i'm not even worried about the girl situation anymore, i would say it's the last thing on my mind but it'd be a lie because of what went down this past year...i'm trying to make it to the testing for a county correctional officer but i don't have my license courtesy of the cops, so i have to try to find $100 between now and saturday to pay my ticket, can't get into the test without my license...b-s on top of b-s, every day

:deadhorse: here's a bump for the topic....plus if anyone wants a shorty 14" antenna, they can have mine at the meet...just lemme know. I put the 4' cb antenna on and i decided to go back to the standard radio antenna so there isnt so much contrast

i keep checking periodically on there and the big ones are all taken. i'm thinking that there will be enough sites out there that we dont have to reserve them...plus from the poll it looks like there will only be 10-15 actual people there if most show up. the individual spots are $5 per night. i did see though that there is a location that people set base camps up for outings and we may be able to get over there and set up camp for free as a group. something to check out that day i guess

EDIT: if u go to the uwharrie link and go to camping, then yates place, u can see the link for the free camping spot

Hey here's a concern. lately we have had some nasty weather here in Greenville. i dont mind a little drizzle but we have had some nasty storms lasting all day and sheets of rain you cant see through. what is the plan if they are calling for bad weather for the Meet weekend?

maybe if we have to put it back, we'll actually be able to get the reserved group camp. i was talking to LQQK about the free base camp as a possibility to stay together and not have to pay. its just a few miles further. what we'd need to do is have someone get there before anyone else and see if the site is open and save it for when a few more of us get there. we also might need to make a number list so that we can call people that are coming and know whether they need to get a small site or if we're gonna take over the free one.
