I’m just getting into this branch of hunting, I’ve hunted pigs for the last year or two at night. Now we have a big cat problem and trying to figure out how to get them without dogs..... “Carlos” the chicken was the first attempt. Thethered him to a t-post, no takers. I’m a amateur, need to do more research.

You may not believe me but.... Black Panthers. Seen 3 in the last year. A smaller one the size of a bobcat, a medium sized one and most recently a large one that looked like it could no shit take down one of our cows. All were seen by multiple people and on several different occasions. Didn’t believe it myself until seen with my own eyes a few weeks ago.

maybe a kitten of the full sized version? Or it was a rare black bobcat. Be neat to see some pics! If its a panther you are going to have to bait it with what they eat...deer, goats or some kind of hog. You must be in Florida or south somewhere ?

I’m in Central Texas.... and yes we had a small pig on hand but the ranch hands let it get lose and couldn’t catch it . Next time we’re out it’ll be a goat on the lead. The smaller one has to be a baby, it was about 12” or so tall and had a long tail. Black as our cows. Causally strutting across the clearing we cut down the fence line. We’re in the process of getting some cameras set up, there was some paw prints about the size of the palm of my hand yesterday near the creek. I’ve seen bobcats and coyotes out there but not recently and the wild hog population has dwindled significantly in the past couple of years.

Thats not a bad thing though right;) I dont know the rules on them down there, so you might not be able to shoot them but maybe contact Texas DNR/Fish and game and see if they can remove them. They might tell you they cant do anything unless they start killing your cows. You could get an electronic fawn distress caller and try that.

Yeah I need to research more into it, we have had calves end up dead and in pieces but we always thought it was still births and other wildlife getting to them before we found them. Not complaining about less hogs, they’ve taken most of the 1800+ acres and made it damn near impassable in some places.

Coyotes are target of opportunity for me.....never see 'em when you have a rifle

this pic..earlier this week...200 yds from my back door.......sumbitches came in during the night

and took down this doe...crippled I'd assume........either way...let them chicken schidts come in

during the day and try to take down a deer.....I keep a 223 very handy with a 200 yd -0-......

I'll kill every one I see...$50/head bounty here in Utah......
