I'm surprised actually. 8 pages and still going?!?! That's 7 pages longer than I thought this would last.

sure it’s been said. The ban WOULD NOT change anything at all! Also all these”Assault weapons” are NOT assault weapons, they are just a semi auto rifle like a ruger 10/22. They LOOK like what the military has, But they do not shoot 3 round burst or full auto. They maybe more powerful than a .22 and hold more rounds than a 10/22(or in some states hold the same 10 rounds)

like NY new law 7 rounds, ok i want to know what they are going to do if 3 or 4 bad guys tried braking in and you had to shoot them with that many rounds. Fact most of the time it takes more than 1 bullet to kill someone! read up on how many people have been shot by more than one by a 9mm (or .40 even or 45) and ran off or fight back or continued to shoot at someone. I don’t want ot hear that if you can’t kill someone in 1 shot you should not own a gun. Because that BS, to that you have to hit them in the heart, head or lungs.

The mere fact that you pose there can be any "real discussion" on this topic is ludacris. If you wanted people to just give yes or no answers, you should have made a poll and suggested people only answer the poll (and we know that wouldn't have happened either). I applaude you for trying though...really.

In America, every citizen is protected by the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs.

In America, citizens dont have to explain and justify the exercise of our rights. The very existence of the right is all the explaining we need.

Many guns are outright prohibited in California and many guns are allowed but in a restricted manner and with reduced features. People can own AR's in California but they are not the same ones that can be owned in other states.

As far as waiting period goes California is 10 days. Montana is about 35 minutes.

When the government decides to infringe on a citizens rights, the onus is on the government to PROVE the compelling reason why its necessary.

There is absolutley no proof that a 10 day waiting period is effective in reducing crime. In addition, for people who already own guns in California, what is the logic of making them wait another 10 days to purchase another gun ? Also, California limits the number of handguns you can purchase per month to 1.

These are gross infringements on my right to keep and bare arms. These specific issues are being addressed in federal court right now and so far it appears there is a good chance the courts will strike down these laws.

Funny , last thread people were arguing that high capacity mag bans are stupid because you could just change mags so quick it wouldn't really matter , so I guess for your question posed , I would suggest changing mags after you blast off the first one

I don't own a gun and I go back and forth as to whether I should get one or not. I'm not anti gun, or proud I don't own one, but I have never believed in them.

I will say this, if I was in trouble and a gun toting Samaritan came to my rescue I would not complain and I would be ever grateful and glad someone other than the criminal had a gun.

I am not saying guns need tracking systems. My point is to your bold comments. I'm saying that not every component driver follows the speed limit. (It is an important concept of the road).

Limiting magazine size (Speed Limit) or type of assault weapon (Bugatti Varon)

No one needs a car that will go over 200 miles per hour but they make them. In fact most cars will do 120 or so.. So gps (most gps can calculate speed)

It would be common scene to limit all cars the the speed limit of the road they are on.

    Your argument is the same.
