Anyone regret getting a Tacoma over a Tundra?

The first gen tundra with the v8, power rear window, sunroof is the same size as the current tacoma. I feel like the 2nd gen tacoma should have these things as an option. Every time I see a loaded crew cab 2006 Tundra I think they're pretty much the same size as my dclb tacoma. But I love my truck, and with every mod it just keeps getting better and better.

Just traded my 2011 4.6 DC 4x4 to get back into a Tacoma.

The 4.6 shifted a lot & the gas mileage was par with 5.7 so if you want one go 5.7 trust me.
I couldn't reach anything, the glove box, the passenger seat belt (they don't retract very well either).
It had alittle bed bounce unloaded so you had to keep weight in the bed. I got use to parking it but no way was it fitting in spots at trail heads or small forest roads.
The A pillar has a rather large blind spot due to the airbag.
You definitely have to watch pedestrians or small cars it would be easy to clip. It felt like a bus.
    Simon hated it.

The pluses was it towed nice, didn't vibe when you stomped on it.
It did have a trans temp gauge.
    Oh and heated mirrors.

Toyotas incentives are better & the price for a nicely equipped 4.6 tundra is less than what I paid for my 13 Tacoma but honestly I wasn't sad to see it go. There is a reason for the incentives imo.
I tried it because I wanted to tow easier but in the long run I got a smaller trailer & wanted back to what is fun. I love driving the tacoma, never felt that way in the other truck.
    So no ...no regrets.

... ^^^ ... My thoughts too ... I had a 2007 SCLB with a 5.7 and it was fast, but too big to park (bus like) and had lots of bugs .. i.e. .. Toyota was great & put a completely new transmission in it at 500 miles. Loved the tow mirrors (with convex bottom) and the power. But I will never leave a Tacoma for a Tundra again.

Hey Guys, just subscribed so I could PM on of the users & I decided to poke around a bit.
Hope I don't get throat stabbed or anything, since I drive a Tundra.

I'll tell you why I got a Tundra over a Tacoma,
because I really wanted a BIG POWERFUL FAST truck...
and as much as everyone else wants to debate it, the Tundra is FASTER than all the other 3... even the ecoboost...
Yes, it's a gas hog, but hey... i can afford it, i hate to read about other tundra owners who complain about its mpg.... we knew what we were getting, and after mods its gets worse.

Had an '07 Tundra crewmax. Loved it. However, it was my wifes and she traded it in on a Jeep. So, I got a Tacoma due to my commute to work. If I wasn't worried about gas mileage, I would have gotten another Tundra. We always need a truck as we ride/race dirtbikes so.....gotta have a truck. I don't like to trailer if I don't have to.

Most days I am happy. Wish today I went bigger, but in reality a double cab long bed could have fit the bill instead of access cab.

Nope. My dad has a tundra. I like the tacoma a lot better. Isn't huge, can go more places, and gets better mpg than the tundra. Tundra does have a smooth ride though.

A little of this and a little of that.
No regrets buying the Tacoma vs. Tundra. I don't have a need for a full size truck, and IMO the current style Tundras are not very good looking.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
    OP, nope.

I considered at one point when my family was growing to have more interior space (particularly to fit car seats), however in the back there was no more space than the Tacoma. Although the area was larger, so were the seats and everything else, they took up more room. I couldn't fit a rear facing car seat in the Tundra any better than the Tacoma (I took it to the dealer to try), after that the decision was made.

    Hell-No: I had a 1972 Datsun 2-wheel dr in late 70s a 1980 Datsun 2-wheel dr in 1982, a 1999 EXT-CB Prerunner 2004-05, a 2001 4dr TRD 4x4 in 2005-2008 and just bought a 2012 silver 4dr 4x4 TRD in AUG 12. Great Trucks. I did like the 2005/06 Tundra EXT CB 4x4 but Tacomas pound for pound / truck for truck is the best in my opinion.

I thought I wanted a Tundra after driving my 2005 DCLB 4x4 Tacoma for a few years and finally pulled the trigger. I got a 2008 5.7 DC Tundra and loved it...or so I thought. I really liked the heated, auto dim side mirrors, audio system was quite a step up from the taco and the 5.7 can move. After a month or two driving the Tundra, I started to miss the Tacoma and its maneuverability in town and on the trail. Also I always felt like I had to baby the accelerator on the Tundra for mpg purposes, which made me miss the Taco all the more.
Not having anything to tow or any need to move heavy loads on a regular basis made me realize I just didn't need the size of the truck.

Sorry for the long-ish read. The short answer, after 4 months of owning the Tundra, I traded back for a 2011 AC Tacoma and couldn't be happier. I cant say the Tundra is inferior, the Tacoma suits my needs a lot better.

like others have said the tundra is too big for what I need. In fact I prefer the 1st gen tacoma size-wise compared to the 2nd gen, but I wanted a new truck. There's a woman who works in our building who rolls up in double cab long bed tundra every morning and I can't help thinking, 'shouldn't you be hauling livestock or something?' The thing is absurd.
