So this is my first Tacoma. I think I got a decent deal on it. I paid 36K (after taxes etc) out the door for my SR5.

This was totally my fault for not exploring options a little more, but I realized after buying my truck that the TRD OR is only another 3K more than my SR5.

Although I love my SR5, I wish I would have gotten the TRD OR. I like the bigger tires, black flares, upgraded shocks, and the fact that it comes with rear lockers.

Anyways, just curious if anyone was/are in the same shoes as me.

Not really man I love my SR5. Theres no real difference between them besides the offroad and the pro having crawl control. but the rest is cosmetic. I dont regret it because no matter what I was going to get I was going to mod it to make my own

Yeah true, eventually I will get rims and bigger tires for it, but it'll be a while so in the meantime I'm stuck with the lil tires lol

Yeah I feel you I messed up when i got my TRD rims by not putting different tires on them. But I need to get myself a lift before I get tires anyway and I plan on going for Fox shocks and stuff so I got to wait for a bit.

Curious, to upgrade my truck in the future to fox shocks, what price would I be looking at?

Instead of buying a truck with crawl control (gimmick) and a rear toyota e locker (with suspension I took off at 2k miles) I could have saved the money, bought the sr5, and regeared and airlocked front and rear.

    Agreed.

Granted, I have used the locker multiple times, but I took off the suspension, wheels/tires in under 10k miles. I never use crawl control, so other than the locker, I paid more for things I removed in the end anyways.

If I could do it again, I’d get the SR5 and use what I saved on things I added+lockers/re-gear.

I got to be honest 36k is high for an SR5. I paid 34k for a trd or 4x4 with extras in so cal

What is the difference in the ride between the two? I have a SR5 and am thinking about putting the OR shocks(Bilstein 4600s) on it. Would that give a better ride?

That's a good price. Was 34K out the door price?
