Lift it, just do it right. There is alot more to it than just spacers or adjustable coilovers. Here is mine, lifted it with only 300 miles on it. On 2nd lift now, riding on Kings and Total Chaos suspension setup. 3" rear, 2.5 up front. 8+ years later, truck drives like new still.

I regret going for a cheap lift and then a quality one. Wasted money imo.

I liked the look and ride of my 2nd gen with icons, but hated trying to track down vibes and the noise I had with my rear aal. So I’m sticking with stock suspension on my 3rd gen. Looks good enough with 4Runner pro wheels and 265/70’s.

Do a mild 2.5"-3" lift. Looks great, not as much of a hassle as a 6" lift and it actually improves the ride (as long as it's not a Rough Country lift)

I went with the regular OME Dakar leafs, no add a leaf. Rides FANTASTIC, but I do have the OME squeak back there.

The squeak's not too bad, you get used to the noise.

Yep, and worth every penny. Also fully skidded too, BAMF LCA skidplates and bumper to bumper.

I have a Sport model, and knowing that my suspensions were made by the same company that made my bread toaster made me feel bad driving my otherwise fun vehicle.
I swapped to heavier wheels (ray10s) and tires (33s) some 35K miles back, and my hitachi shocks showed their age pretty soon.
I like to drive fast, and I didn't want to make my cornering, and handling any worse.
So I got Fox 2.0s for the back, and Fox 2.5s for my front with NO lift at all. My UCAs are still stock. I could go upto 2" taller in the front if I wanted to. But it will come with a heavy price of losing your center of gravity at any speeds, and losing cornering and handling.
Also worry of tipping over my truck, and having to clench my butt when I switch lanes quick or have to avoid obstacles or idiots.
I was also told by my friends that no matter which after market UCA I got, I'd have to maintain it, grease it, and take care of it and also occasionally needs to be serviced. Remove dirt and grime going into ball joints, and be careful. I don't want to do any extra work. I hardly have to do anything to my vehicle except regular oil and fluids change. I use it as my daily vehicle.

I'm up 1.5-2" front/rear on kman suspension and icon aal in the rear. I get what you're saying about COG being higher, but if you have good shocks/coilovers, you're reducing body roll and keeping your tires planted. The truck definitely handles and corners much better than stock. Widening your track with different offset wheels and wider tires will also help with this.
