Put order in for TRDORDC LB AT in Quicksand with P&T back before Christmas. Dealer today says no allocation yet and won't know until end of month. Says it could be end of Feb before I get an allocation/build date. Maybe I'll have time to visit a couple other dealers around here to test waters. Maybe I'll send an mail to several dealers with my exact build and ask for offers so I'll have something to take with me when mine comes in.

Nice choice! I have that exact truck. Picked mine up from the dealer on Black Friday. From order date, it took almost exactly 8 weeks to build and deliver.

One piece of potentially helpful info I heard from my dealer: Less than 1% of all Tacomas made this year come in DCLB OR Quicksand color. That could be the cause of the delay.

First time poster, long time lurker... If you don't mind my asking, when did you order? I just "ordered" my DCSB OR 6MT this weekend, and the dealer says 6-8 weeks, but I'm guessing that's optimistic. BTW, I just turned 33, and this is my first new vehicle as well. The first dealership I walked into told me I was crazy for holding out for the 6MT. I told him if he wanted my business, he'd better find one, because there was no way in hell I was spending that kind of cash for anything less than exactly what I want.

I was given a 8-12 week quote at first. I ordered on November 30, received a build date on December 16 or so, and it's scheduled to be built January 26.

I haven't read any of the posts in this thread. What questions are still unanswered?

I have an OR and was not going to settle for anything less. Here is a matching DCLB OR 4X4 in white we talked to while on the trail this weekend.

No questions. I had a DCSB TRD Sport with a 6MT on order, but had ideas later on that an OR was the better way to go for more truck for my buck. Asked for thoughts on the situation and in the end, I pulled the trigger and cancelled the Sport to order an OR instead. I should have it by mid March.

Ok good. Wow mid March is one of the longer wait time I've heard of

He said March 7, but he also said it could be sooner. I'd rather not get my hopes up and expect delivery any earlier than mid month.

I ordered an OR with a two month wait time. I then jumped on cars.com and found exactly what I wanted outside of my dealer's trade radius. The new dealer knocked off my nonrefundable deposit and the cost of an airline ticket, I worked out the deal over the phone, jumped on a plane, and drove it home. The "old" dealer then refunded my nonrefundable deposit which was pretty darned cool of them. It was a win-win. Anyway, I recommend cars.com to find what you're looking for without waiting for months.

Here are the current results for a 2016 TRD OR DCSB with a manual tranny:

This is excellent advice. The only reason I did not go this route was because I wanted an inferno color without the tech package and inside comfortable driving range. It's been just as easy to wait and the extra time has been useful to get my wife used to the idea of me buying a new truck.:D

I agree, I am socializing the whole family to the idea. And I can continue to save up for the down payment. Plus I wanted the DCSBOR with manual, in black, with moon roof and tech/tow pack without JBL behind the seat. It's fun to wait and read TW.

I ordered a Black DC LB 4X4 TRD off road on 10/21/15 and recieved very few updates from my dealer.... He said it would be befor Christmas, then after the first of the year and the last info I got was the first part of Febuary. I got the call the truck was in and skipped out on some work today to find a nice pretty DC LB 4X4 TRD SPORT sitting on the lot.... They ordered the wrong truck! the guy that ordered it was already let go for other shit I think.... I waited almost 3 and a half months.... there are no long bed DC OR trucks avalible in the gulf states area that are not spoken for. The sales manager is looking, but I've been hunting this truck for months too. I'm beyond upset... I'm mad.

That would be nice. I'm waiting on the sales manager to try and work a little magic before I throw a temper tantrum.... I'm afraid they will tell me to wait for a new OR or take the one on the lot... Someone was trying to buy it as we were discussign the problem.

I bought a TRD Sport 4x4 instead of the OR and have no regrets. 95% of my driving is on the road, and the 5% I'm off road it's a fire road, service road, getting back to a trailhead, etc. No need for the OR or craw control or a locking diff, and preferred the better ride not he freeway with the Sport and better look of the color matched fenders, hood scoop, etc.
