I bought two RotopaX recently. As instructed I filled them with water initially to rinse out potential debris, etc.

One of them leaked! Brand new, has two TINY pin holes in the red plastic on the seam by the collar.

RotopaX replaced it under warranty, but first offered "We can send you a return label for the bad cans and send out new ones for you, or you can try and fix them to see if we can stop the leaking." This got me thinking that it's gotta be fixable.

I can easily cover these holes with superglue, gorilla glue, etc, but I want to make sure gas won't dissolve/penetrate my fix. Having an extra can would be cool, but if the fix is risky then it's not worth it to me to keep the can.

Anyone a chemistry professor or know what will work permanently, 100% leak/dissolve proof? These will not live in the truck, they would be carried on the back of my dual-sport on trips where fuel range may be lacking.

If its brand new, even if it may eventually leak, why start off with it like that. Idk why they would even suggest you as the customer try to fix it

As stated I already got a replacement. This could be an extra can if it's fixed.

If the holes were bigger I'd just ditch it and send it back. The two holes are legit pin holes, I couldn't fit a toothpick through it.

You could try melting P-Tex onto it like a ski or snowboard base.

I fixed the washer tank in our Durango with my soldering iron. Melted the plastic and fused it back together

I would probably attempt to use something like a soldering iron to attempt to melt and form the plastic to fix the leaks. Then I would use it for water only and label it as such, just in the case it ever leaks again.

I'd go for the solder iron with added plastics.
